And since the season is winding down does anyone have any ideas to spur activity? Anyone want to take over Rico or chim's team ?

not much point upsetting the balance now. maybe we need to do a goalie dispersal draft to fix the disparity?

Maybe not a dispersal draft, but maybe change the format to make it a limited keeper.

I am up for a goalie dispersal draft or a limited keeper as my best goalie is Ben Scrivens and I'm not trading Crosby.

I think a GM meeting after this season is in order to breath some life into this league. The main things to discuss are an entry draft and goalie hoarding.

;) I inherit a bottom feeder team with Tim Thomas as my only starter... I've slowly built depth on forwards, but now expect to be ass raped to get a below average goalie. While a handful of guys who raped previous GM's many moons ago have 3 or 4 legit starters.

I'm making decent progress, but Keuemper, pavelec, and holtby aren't going to cut it...

the goalie issue and depth are separate items. Half my team is waiver scraps...really good waiver scraps like elder, doan, vrbata, downie, hamhius, martin, harding,.

the roster sizes are huge and IR is never an issue

Lots of pedo GMs who are holding on to sexy high draft picks that won't produce until 2018 or giving up on traditionally excellent producers for short term gains when they won't win anyway.

The goalie issue is real and we should cap goalie keepers at 3.

My suggestion is instead of a complete roll over of keepers we make it more limited, like just keeping your starters (3c, 2rw, 2lw, 4 d, and 2 G), and have a entry draft to flesh out your bench.

It'll make the league more competitive, interesting, and make GM's take a more active role.

Penalizes/levels the playing field, a matter of interpretation. I think the biggest thing is we need to force people to be more active.

Maybe 3 G and 12 players of any position is more reasonable. one bench player kept for teams with depth at one specific position. Still a really heavy blow to decent teams.

And if we can establish the rules early the off season can be full of trades and prep for the nuking.

I think it's better then having disinterested/inactive GM's. Frankly, if it's not fixed in someway I'd suspect the league contracts and/or folds in short order...heck it's on life support this season.

I didn't even set my line up half the year...

2nd place and ready for play offs.

I'll accept a rule change even though it will gut my goaltending and carefully crafted depth. Sure don't like my bobby Ryan trade as much though....

Maybe a gradual winding down of the keeper list would be better than doing it right off the bat. Let's people kind of plan things out rather than forcing it down their throats. But have to do something, #1 for sure is booting rico and chim from their gigs.

If we change the format we should give them another shot at being active.

rico has done this for two years in row. chim joined and promptly did nothing, couldve done something at the draft and had the #1 to do it with. did nothing.

This is the first year I haven't made a trade. Mostly because there's no one to talk to.

Dr.C is a good GM. I think the fact that he inherited a shit team and the lack of banter made this league uninteresting to him this year.

Yep, those absentee GM's like an artificially low cap on FA pickups so they don't have to be too active... :squint:

Frankly, the weekly max is enough to police it, IMO.

I'm in but was thinking over the weekend and have the following proposal: we dissolve the league and restart completely afresh, guaranteeing spots to current GMs who wish to stay, and picking new GMs from broads (or abroads).

Who agrees?
