I realized in 98, to get to a gold medal game, it takes a lot of planning,execution and luck. To win the bronze medal game, it takes character.

when you go to these tournaments with just Gold in mind, once you are eliminated from that game it is very difficult to get up for the bronze game.

I thought losing Martin did not help the Americans....Orpik got more ice.

US was also very weak down the center - easier to shut down teams when you don't have a strong offensive center ice presence.
