You have to admire the conviction of the current government to do this as the parliament is shutting down for the holidays while simultaneously making the minister responsible unavailable for comment.

Patrick Huard is mistakingly the recipient of 500 pieces of missing mail addressed to Rene Levesque in the mid 1970s - and, with the aid of a Canada Post employee who is about to lose her job, track down the original senders and reflect on the changing nature of the francophone identity in the 21st century.

They honour it too, except they have to deliver anything that's addressed, so you'll still get those letters from Rogers sent to "Resident" with your address on it.

You also still get all the junk that's not from Canada Post. That's about half the junk where I live.

Are you always so confrontational? :pacman:

LC's have little systems to make it easier for them know who doesn't want junkmail, but, by all means plaster a big sign over your mailbox.

Back in high school, I was employed by CanadaPost (part of the union and the whole bit). My job was to deliver the AdMail everyone so despises. Had two routes, of about 400-500 homes, and took me most of Saturday to complete. The pay was unbeatable though for listening to my Walkman and getting exercise. Never had another job until university.

How the fuck do you habitants manage three pages of posts about this bullshit in less than a day?! I'm not reading through all of this, and I'm sure a meaningful percentage is just dong gif-spamming, but you guys are pumping out dross at beakeresque volumes.

A mere 60 pages! Think of the time savings compared to dolts like AD and Sturm who have to click through 150 pages for that!

My favorite part was my local paper the Whig interviewing a person in a wheelchair that doesn't figure they'll be able to roll half a block to get her mail, while complaining that the lowest boxes in the communal box were too low but the row above was too high.

Like this person is representative of a real problem with the plan...

Can't we just economize?

Let's have Natural Gas Salespeople bring the mail while handing out copies of the Watchtower and caroling.

That's the kind of cross-sector marketing that gives the private sector a chubby.
