Rob Ford: Scholar, Lover, Poet

Post #1 by mayoradamwest » Wed May 21, 2014 11:19 pm

And so today, you do not walk alone. You gave to this world wonderful children. They didn’t live long lives, but they lived meaningful lives. (Well) Their lives were distressingly small in quantity, but glowingly large in quality. (Yeah) And no greater tribute can be paid to you as parents, and no greater epitaph can come to them as children, than where they died and what they were doing when they died. (Yeah) They did not die in the dives and dens of Birmingham (Yeah, Well), nor did they die discussing and listening to filthy jokes. (Yeah) They died between the sacred walls of the church of God (Yeah, Yes), and they were discussing the eternal meaning (Yes) of love. This stands out as a beautiful, beautiful thing for all generations. (Yes) Shakespeare had Horatio to say some beautiful words as he stood over the dead body of Hamlet. And today, as I stand over the remains of these beautiful, darling girls, I paraphrase the words of Shakespeare: (Yeah, Well): Good night, sweet princesses. Good night, those who symbolize a new day. (Yeah, Yes) And may the flight of angels (That’s right) take thee to thy eternal rest. God bless you Rob Ford.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/rob-ford-will-return-to-mayor-s-job-on-june-30-after-rehab-1.2678080

"Kindly be advised that I will be returning to work at City Hall on Monday, June 30th, 2014, in the later portion of the afternoon, to resume my duties as mayor," writes Ford in a letter to Ulli Watkiss.

"Please make the necessary arrangements for my locks to be restored to their state prior to my departure, for 1:00 p.m. on the date of my return."

Take it slow, morning off, show up in the late afternoon, then stat holiday on July 1st.

I am disappointed that "MAYOR FORD" doesn't have exclamation points and wasn't written in either a sharpie or one of those multicolored pens with all the colours pushed down.

Doesn't he normally go to the cottage to duck Pride? If that's still on the odds are pretty good it happens before he even makes it back to office.

It turns out, the biggest victims of racism were the Fords themselves.

Daniel Dale @ddale8 · 18m

Doug Ford, when I pressed him on what racial slur the jogger uttered: "You can be racist against people who have a drinking problem."

Yeah, I don't think too many normal people immediately associate crack with anyone other than the coloureds, fellas.
