FOUR MORE YEARS OF FORD NATION.

no way a communist Chinese woman has a chance and somehow I think Doug will beat Tory in the split.

Not in Toronto mayor elections iirc. Miller supposedly came out of nowhere for example.

Not that I remember any of this, but it seems polls showed a Miller win shortly before the election. Things were moving fast because Hall collapsed.

The most amazing part of this is how Rob probably would have won this had he not gotten cancer. his unlikeable brother almost squeaked it out.

Just think about that.

I doubt it. Polls for RoFo seemed to top out at around what DoFo ended up getting. I also expect that more voters would have moved towards Tory from Chow if the race was closer.

Congrats Toronto, I guess. A lot of you are still mongs obv though.

One third that prove it's a beyond a reasonable doubt is a pretty high number Claw. It's scientifically proven that the population at large is only about 10%.

Looking at the election results part of me wants to give the good people of Scarborough and Etobicoke what they so richly deserve. Let's break up the City of Toronto! Etobicoke and Scarborough can head out on their own after flipping a coin to see whether they get Rob or Doug as their Mayor.

Let's go even further and at the Provincial & Federal level pass legislation that states that tax revenue is spent in the municipal jurisdiction in which its collected, no exceptions. That way the salt of the earth folks can be unshackled by flow of downtown elite dollars they seem to despise.

Why? Living in Toronto (probably the same in Montréal, VanCity etc...) is like being invited out to dinner with a group of "friends". When the bill comes you get to pay a disproportionate amount of it and everybody tells you what a fucking asshole you are as a result.

I'm willing to bet more people per capita are on the public dole in Toronto than anywhere else in Ontario.

PS well maybe not higher than Hamilton.

Some sure, but most live in places like Scarborough and Etobicoke.

That expense is also offset by all the tax revenue collected in the City from both businesses and homeowners. That manna from the sky which gets sprinkled around the rest of the Province/Country.

Under my plan you'd live in a gated community Joe.

The point was partially tongue-in-cheek.

What I was saying is that there are subsections of the electorate who bray constantly about government waste and largese. What they're really saying is that they want to keep more of their hard earned dollars. What I'm saying is that it be nice to take them up on that offer because perhaps they'd shut the fuck up after seeing their services vanish or their taxes increase as the greater revenue pool is shrunk.
