Well, as "fine" as our Defense can be. Kind of feel sorry for Giroux to lose his consecutive game streak with this crap. Tonight is going to be a hilarious farce though. Coots will probably play 30 minutes in his second game back from injury.

Hopefully Provorov - Myers become a legit top pairing for us. I think they should compliment each othere well.

I know our forwards are depleted, but Therrien is the worst PP coach. He had Ghost on the left halfwall where he's not a shooting threat. Why. Same with Couturier and it's the same mistake he often makes with Giroux too, the shooters need to be on their off sides.

Yeah the issue today is no Giroux and Voracek. First unit was:

JVR-Farabee net
Couturier-Patrick halfwalls
Gustafsson

Gus was the only shooting threat so rangers just clogged his lane completely.


Sanheim wasn't on either unit, I'd rather 2 D than Patrick on the point or Raffl on the second unit.

This late 2nd PP has Couturier and Patrick on their shooting sides now at least.

I read the outdoor game at Lake Placid last night was postponed because the ice quality was piss poor. Which, if that's the case, reminds me of business managers that want what they want - regardless what their topical experts tell them. And that fits the NHL so perfectly. I can imagine it going to no other way. Such a fine product they have. I imagine all the other leagues envy what the NHL has managed to accomplish to date.

I'm sorry for the snark, but I used to love the NHL, and the product now is just crap. I'm sure Gary and co. would love to tell me otherwise. But, at the end of the day, the consumer's perception of a product ultimately dictates its value - not what the seller prices it at.

It's going to be interesting to see how they market the game after the COVID crisis. But I honestly don't see how they can re-establish themselves as a viable professional sports league, when the talent pool they have to draw from dwindles, and dwindles, and dwindles away. Until there's just nothing left to market.
