Hairline fracture in his ribs. Can't wait for the media to eat this up, the QB labeled as injury prone already hurt.

Starting Wentz is moronic ... they have the bye after Week 4, right? Start him in Game 5 after two weeks of practice with the starters.

(And, yes, the Daniels games will be a disaster, but this is a rebuild ... own it.)

If he's ready to start. Start him. This isn't an expansion team, if he's going to be good, he'll be good.

Yeah, seriously, how much different will things be in less than a month? And why make the rest of the offense change gears to Daniel now, then change gears again in a couple of weeks?

He's a rookie (who didn't even play against D1 comp.), missed a huge chunk of camp to injury and barely played in preseason ... I'd say the chance he's "ready" approaches 0%. I thought the minimal amount of game action we saw from him was impressive, but this seems like flirting with disaster due to impatience.

A penny saved, is a penny earned.

I think the original plan of sitting him for the season was the way to go.

I'll add, the move would have some logic if he had played the entire preseason and looked good. He literally hasn't even been practicing for much of it, let alone playing against live opposition.

I hated the idea of a Sammy Sleeves bridge season.

HC, OC, and QB coach are all QB guys, if they believe he's ready, I say rock and roll.

Don't underestimate the immense institutional, etc. pressuere they are all under to believe he is ready. Read also as: that they were right to make a major move to acquire him. The problem from the start is that signing Bradford and then trading for Wentz never made sense. You trade for Wentz and then sign a journeyman nobody to keep the seat warm (we will ignore Daniels crazy contract for the moment).

This decision stinks of immediate gratification, and a bit of coaching panic at trotting out Daniels and him sucking.

I think at minimum you let him watch one game to see the actual pace and what not of an NFL game. The only positive I think of with it is that you are going against the Browns and Bears in the first two weeks. Oh well. I'm excited anyway.

Also if anyone is interested I do run a Pick'em League for 30 bucks for the season no spreads, drop your one lowest week. Let me know :)

Wentz has never played a game against D-I or NFL competition, not even a full preseason game. His college team is basically the bully of D-II football (they've won 5 straight national titles, Wentz started for 1.5 seasons).

I mean, maybe he's good, but throwing him in Week 2 against NFL competition (not counting the Browns in Week 1 as "NFL Competition") seems idiotic.

Wentz looked great honestly, yes it was against the Browns. Still nice to see him start on a high get some confidence going.

Some issues were obvious, but I loved his poise taking a hit here and there to make a play.

Only repeated error I saw was getting balls batted down when he looked to dump to RBs in the flat. Needs to find a pump fake or side arm for those throws.

I'm surprised Agholor actually got open for once.

Also if Jordan Matthews stopped ddropping the ball he could be a legit top 15 WR if not more.

After ten years of the Bills and twenty something years of the Flyers, the NHL, and multiple lockouts, losses taste about as good as the beer that's on tap for the afternoon/morning.

Which TE should I pick up to replace Ertz?

Candidates:
Virgil Green, Vance McDonald, Jesse James, Clive Walford, Kyle Rudolph, or Sefarian-Jenkins

Look for good matchups ... TE is a black hole after the elite group.

Jester is right, usually pick TE/Defense based on matchup after the few good ones. Jack Doyle might be worth looking into though.

Went with Pitta. Has a good matchup and seems like he was solid before missing a a year and a half to injuries.

So Pitta paid off, somehow I'm 2-0 after 2 weeks. My Defense put up 24 points last week which is crazy.

Now looks like Ertz is possible for this weekend's game, how likely is it that he plays?

It would be smart to leave him out the week especially with a bye after. Going to be a tough match up against the Steelers anyway.

Stupid yahoo has him as Q meaning I have to take him off my IR in order to make a move. Pretty annoying if he is just going to be out this week anyway.
