What do you guys think of Agholor tonight? Might be forced to start him in fantasy. He seems pretty boom/bust but Wentz has been throwing a lot.

Now that the game is over, I can say with certainty that starting him would have been a great idea!

Even if this ends up being a bust this is a steal of a move for a 4th round pick.

Small chance his ACL might not be torn, just saying this because he's walking around not on crutches and stayed in the game for a few plays after the fact. People who tear ACL's usually go down and don't get back up.

You can walk just fine on a torn ACL. Just hurts your lateral stability. Buddy of mine waited like three months before he got his fixed

If the Eagles ever planned on winning a superbowl it would be an Eagle way to win one like this. That being said even with Wentz I wasn't on the Eagles are super bowl favorites band wagon.

By rule it's a drop, you can easily argue the rule needs to be amended. The play doesn't stop when the ball breaks the plane if it's during the initial catch. If that ball is "caught" at midfield everybody calls it a drop.

I still think James made a football move. knee, elbow hit the ground. ball crosses the plane of the goal. play should end there. Well I should say should of ended there. The rule fucking blows. Just like the rule where a Jets TD was taken away against NE earlier in the year.
if a running back is at midfield and loses control lunging for a 1st down its a fumble. at the goal line it is a TD.

He was still in the process of the catch though, there is a difference between carrying the ball and lunging for a first when you clearly have possession and using the ground as a third hand. If that catch happens at midfield or not near the goal line everybody calls that a drop.

Yeah, I don't understand the controversy on this one.
Regardless of whether the call was right or wrong, the situation or the controversy exists, and will always exist, because of the exemplary job the NFL's figureheads have done in creating almost impossibly convoluted rules it can't possibly enforce to the extent the fans were promised.

the ball never touched the ground. it did move after the ball crossed the goal line. If people want to say the call was fine. whatever. But they need to fix and clarify the rule.
Cooks made a similar play against the Texans earlier in the year. They called it a TD and didn't have the evidence to overturn it. I think there is enough confusion in the rule that players and some officials don't understand it and are frustrated with it.

didn't the Fox former ref they use say the officiating crew screwed that up? don think there was enough evidence on that overturn. if they ruled it incomplete at first that is one thing, but I don't think there is anything there to overturn it. and folks wonder why ratings are really dropping. it is everyone being clueless on what is a catch and what isn't.

He did. It was originally ruled a touchdown, but an official reversed it because he thought he had clear proof showing Benjamin didn't have the left down prior to exiting the endzone.

I assume that's what was required to get him to give up the announcing gig gravy train ... but, yeah, he's not worth that and you gotta assume he's lost a bit on his fastball after all these years taking it easy.

I don't get the Gruden hype at all. He's a shade over .500 as a coach? I remember when the Eagles fired Chip, Cataldi was all hyped up that they had to hire Gruden. That should tell you everything you need to know about whether it's a good idea.
Also, on of the guys on Pardon My Take said that Davis likes Gruden so much because "Jon Gruden looks like what Mark Davis thinks Mark Davis looks like." Which image I can't get out of my head.

I mean, his record puts you in the 9-10 win area ... not too shabby by NFL standards, and his record is a bit wonky just because he built up the Raiders and then jumped to a very good but aging Bucs team. So, got the SB, but was swiftly coaching a rebuilding team.
I think he was a good coach, but the contract is silly (whatever, not my money) and doubt he's as good as he was a decade ago ... and you are probably better finding the younger and hungrier guy than going with the guy that's been doing a cushy job for the last decade.
It's really a shame, I thought he was a pretty good color guy.
