I don't get why the Dolphins would ever do that deal, but guess it's awesome for us at least.

Hextall is bored now that the trade deadline passed and decided to run the Eagles for a while. That's my theory.

If he gets healthy I could see him actually being pretty decent, apparently the ACL is a two-year injury in football. But with Kendricks + Hicks he was more expendable and it's nice to lose that Maxwell deal.

Why do the Eagles want the Bills old shit? And why are the Dolphins nearly the worst run organization out there?

So the Sixers and Phillies are awful and the Eagles just traded all of their picks for a guy that played D-II football last year.

Thank God for Ron Hextall.

Draft picks are really over valued in the NFL.

Are we talking the value of the top of the draft picks, or draft picks in general? The former is largely driven by the talent in a given year, and REALLY is about whether a QB exists there (folks aren't selling away large volumes of draft picks for any other position). If the latter, as a 'Skins fan ... I'd dispute the notion that draft picks are overvalued.

QB skews the whole conversation. If you get a franchise QB, there really isn't a price too high.

I have a friend who is in love with Wentz and is hype about this trade and I am just like I hope Bradford has a great year.

Remember I'm a Ravens fan, but from what I was reading Wentz, assuming the Rams follow through with the rumors that they're taking Goff, Wentz may be the better of the two QBs down the road a year or two. Great skill just needs fine tuning. Give him a year or two as Bradford's backup and he may be a solid QB for a good handful of years.

You can argue he isn't worth all the players that are given up, but like you said, if he pans out to be a really good QB, you can't put a price on that.

Plus there's a huge price involved in getting a new QB period. It's a big reason why QB prices keep going up. You can either pay them or let them walk but your team is going to be down and out for a few years while you recover, unless you get lucky on free agency or make a big trade. So a lot of times the team will just pay. Bradford is a band aid until the Eagles get a new QB. This is them setting their ducks in a row, IMO.

I dunno, Wentz makes me very nervous, it seems like one of those classic things where a ton of people talk themselves into him during March and April. Even in Feb people were saying he was a mid-1st round pick and now he's a franchise QB? Also, had a great year as a 5th year senior on a team that's a national powerhouse and has won 5 straight titles....not exactly an unbelievable resume.

Just because he kept his composure while Jon Gruden batted him with a pool noodle doesn't make him a can't-miss prospect.

The problem with Wentz, as Murphy noted today, is that he is going to be making a massive leap in talent level. It's always a gamble that these QBs can mentally adjust to the reads at the NFL, but even more of one with a guy that didn't play against top NCAA athletes/coaching.

The more I read about the kid, the more onboard I am.

Mayock is over the moon, Wentz's piece in the Players Tribune was great, the bulk of the traditional Philly sports media hates it, it all seems to line up.

I mean, really, you just need to cross your fingers and hope. It seems like every other year there's a hot shot QB prospect that crashes and burns ... and it sucks if you waste a pick on them, and it sucks even more if you trade up to get 'em--(Hi, I'm a Redskins fan, lemme tell you about ...).

I am getting a kick out of everyone piling on Bradford ... of course he wants out! There is like a 90% chance that the Eagles straight up lied to him, and, even if they made no promises, the writing is on the wall about his long-term prospects with the organization. It's easy to say, "Go play and you'll earn your next contract ..." But, in the process, he's burning a year of building relationships with coaches, teammates, etc. that he believed he was trying to do in Philly, and is an important part of creating a winning football team--not to mention risking significant bodily harm for folks that don't intend to see him on the roster a year from now. So, I think the Eagles have to move him at this point, because it's going to be a total fucking circus all season if they don't (great way to break in your rookie QB).

As said, though. If they're right about Wentz, then all of this will be forgotten swiftly.

Shame a lot of you guys don't follow soccer. What Leicester did this year will be talked about for likely the next 100 years. What they accomplished was one of the biggest miracles in sports.

Quick summary for those who don't know, they were at 5000 to 1 odds to win the championship to start the year and most had them being relegated. Astonishingly enough they won the fucking league, incredible story.

Football, especially on national levels, is fucking boring in the big picture. It's always the same rich teams who throw the most money at players who win. Just took a count and in the german Bundesliga it's 26-28 Championships in terms of Bayern vs. the field and when Bayern hasn't placed first it placed at least the top 3 most of the time. In other leagues like Serie A (10-11 in the last 22 years for Juventus) or Premiere League (13-10 in favor of Manchester United).

When considering this, it makes Leicester City's victory even more special. It reminds me a lot of the 97-98 Bundesliga season (one of the few seasons I actually followed football) when 1. FC Kaiserslautern won the title a year after being promoted to the Bundesliga.

Actually, harder than that (beer league comp aside). The lack of a playoff is the biggest reason the same set of teams always win. Playoffs increase randomness, and the odds that a "weaker" team can win a championship.

If they're watching ESPN2 and are upset about content, they should be directing it at themselves for watching ESPN2. ESPN offers the most stepped-on shit for a product that's available in so many other ways and without losing an 8th of the screen to tickers or all of the screen to shitty hosts who don't provide any insight
