Jesus fucking christ.... There is really no explanation for how they can continually get no bounces, and every other team scores the fucked up goals off our dman's leg, or bouncing three times, or whatever the fuck it is every game.
People argue that the Habs take perimeter chances and don't get good opportunities... the xGF being over 5 for a single game, and only coming up with 2 blows that theory out of the water.
They're just not as dangerous as they seem by the numbers. I'd say this, they generated real good opportunities in the second period, a lot of loose pucks around the net that Anaheim got to first. Now if you wanna interpret that as lack of luck, it's up to you. I just think the habs play very desperately the times they've dominated during this trip, and that doesn't always make for the most "sober" scoring chances.
I'd say watching scoring chances and how they develop leads to a more accurate analysis.
I'm watching them, I've put myself through the torture. How they only got 2 goals tonight on those chances, it makes no fucking sense.
On the season.... they have 28 xG. They have put together scoring chances.... they have 13 goals.
Are they the most dangerous team in the NHL? Of course not, but no one expected them to be... but they are scoring less than half of what they should based on chances created. That is going to even out in time.
Just like they weren't the greatest team ever when they were 10-0-1 last year and scoring goals far above what their number of chances generated should have gotten them.... they are much better than a 1-6-1 team scoring half of what their chances should give them.
