That's why I used the word swap... but I agree that the 2nd pick could change the trade.

Eller was never going to be more than a third liner. That said im strongly in favour of impaling Bergevin.

Eller is a third line C, Shaw is a vegetable :rudy:

Could have traded eller for 2 seconds.. and just never made the shaw trade. That would have been fine.

well Eller brings much more offence is cheaper and is more experienced

Andrew Shaw 26 yrs old - 3.9 million USD
2016-17 Montreal Canadiens NHL 68 12 17 29
2017-18 Montreal Canadiens NHL 51 10 10 20

Lars Eller 29 years old – 3.5 million USD (2018)
2016-17 Washington Capitals NHL 81 12 13 25
2017-18 Washington Capitals NHL 81 18 20 38
:mkbét::lr: :lr:

OOOH yeah life goes on, long after the thrill of Vinny is gone

It's too bad all the people that could really run the Habs are busy doing talk radio, writing blogs or posting on message boards.

Now, Lajoie is an imbecile, a cretin and a plagiarist, who to use author Dany Laferrière's deliciously withering expression, "lives beyond his intellectual means."

...as serious as a poutine shortage in Chicoutimi during a curling bonspiel...

Shaw is a good player, if I find fault, it's that there isn't enough of what he brings on the team so he tries too hard. If our team had top end depth, Shaw would be quite valuable, his role is diminished here. Health is another issue though, not sure hat will get better.

Shaw is a dumbass and a penalty taking machine. Even if he was good, I would hate him as a person. I want him off my team.

Shaw could probabaly score 20 again in the right situation with good linemates. (Ie not what we have in montreal)

Hes a decent player and draws nearly as many penalties as he takes.

I mean hes not bad.

But two 2nd rounders and 3.9 million for 6 years was just to steep a price for him. Hes not bad, hes just not really going to drive anything himself.

A sundae is wonderful when you realise that you have all the ingredients , and no one is home. A milkshake is a mans treat

Will help Zadina to learn the defensive side of hockey for the next 10 years, then Zadina will be ready to play second wave PP on the wing of Byron.

Sometimes there just happens to be syrup in the house. Chocolate, caramel, some fruit with about a day left to live, and no one can stop you when you pour the syrup, that’s what I mean.
