It's too bad all the people that could really run the Habs are busy doing talk radio, writing blogs or posting on message boards.

Now, Lajoie is an imbecile, a cretin and a plagiarist, who to use author Dany Laferrière's deliciously withering expression, "lives beyond his intellectual means."

I've never watched that show. Dubé has good insight, but it's all negated by the existence of Lavoie.
So I understand the Gagnon hatred, trust me, he's not my favorite journalist, like far from it. And his analysis is obviously flawed....he looks at somebody who flourishes....and blames the Habs. Well I go further than that. Blame the whole scouting system who does not prove that it's up to what it was before. I blame the Q scouts. Something you'll NEVER hear Gagnon say. He will blame the anglos like Timmins and Churla. And while the ball starts and ends with Timmins....and he is to blame, so are those Q scouts.

Incredibly enough....it's not like they missed a lot of Q guys that were drafted after our guys. I've looked at it and aside from Palat you won't find a lot of guys that were drafted after our guys and that we missed. But those Myers, Gourde, JAM, Gaudreau that were not drafted at all? They weren't even worth an invitation? You couldn't be persuasive enough to convince Timmins to invite them? When 99% of our invitiations never ends up in contract signings?
Its just as disingenous to claim PK only did it for the kids or to claim he only did it because PK loves PK. If he really did it only for the kids, why go public with it?

And frankly who cares.

I had been reading Friedrich Nietzsche and this is what he had to say about selfless acts:

First, any being who would be capable of purely selfless actions only is more fabulous than the phoenix. It cannot even be imagined clearly because from the start the whole concept of "selfless action," if carefully examined, evaporates into the air. Never has a man done anything that was only for others; and without any personal motivation. Indeed, how could he do anything that had no reference to himself, that is, with no inner compulsion (which would have to be based on a personal need)? How could the ego act without ego?
I can't speak for anyone else, but I think for anyone who thinks with an open mind understands that actions are done for a reason. A selfless act is never done without some sort of gain, monetary, emotional, spiritual, etc. To do otherwise, you would not be human.

And it goes on and on and on. :donger:

Crappy draft. Timmins was his usual clueless self, picking players with bad risk-reward ratio and missing on better picks. But instead of trying to compensate his scouting deficiencies by trying to pick the best player available, this draft had the smell of panic and short-term thinking all over it. I am amazed and amused that after so many years, people are still trying to pretend like Timmins does a good job. This draft will seal his fate, I think.

And the panic nature of the draft is certainly due to pro management input. Which may not bode well for upcoming trading and signings. If you're dumb enough to draft pimpled face hacks who are years away from even looking like a player simply based on current needs, this desperation and lack of imagination is gonna show up in other areas.

Yeah I remember Vlad used to be one of my favorites like 10 years ago. Not Fido or Mumu level though.

Please list past examples of such a case?

Semin, Radulov, Jerabek. Maybe they were successfull in the KHL, but Yak has been in the NHL, on bad situations. His first year with the Oilers was good, he might wake up and train harder over the summer. There's plenty of late bloomers his age. I've heard he's a Muslim too.
