LeBrun on the Canadiens: "They're not done. They'd like a top 4 d-man that can play on the left side, I think they obviously still want to acquire a top 2 centre. They've been linked to Ryan O'Reilly in trade talks with the Buffalo Sabres".

Yes, but in theory having the 3rd overall pick with the possibility of drafting a player than can fill into the top 6 at W, it kinda is. Unless Margolys really believes he got a top 6 C in Domi.

I think MB sees Domi as a Gallagher type player that will compete better than AG. May not have the natural talent.

I think he will be addressing the C issue with either another trade or through FA (Stastny) which I will not be pleased with

Feels like an underwhelming return, don't know how much room for improvement Domi really has. Both players can bomb or flourish, I just think Ariz got the better goal scorer. We're also trading Patches, that's something we had to address even before trading both those guys. Maybe we're truly gunning for Hughes.

Yes, I understand that Domi is a more efficient player than Galchenyuk, it just feels like Galchenyuk had more value to us than Domi will have since he can score goals. I thought he'd flourish under Julien, had a solid end of the season, had some jump on his stride...it was encouraging, but maybe it's because he was informed he was gtfo'ing.

I would much rather see us using our best assets to fill some needs (C, D, more 1st round picks or prospects).

i don't disagree, but AG has been shopped around for 2 years. I just don't know why he is not as valued by other NHL teams.

if strictly hockey, AG should be worth more. i think there is more than we may know

My current reflection is either:

A) This trade needed to happen for reasons we ignore.
b) This is part of a broader vision, as it certainly doesn't make us a better team on paper right now.

Basically, same feeling I had with the P.K. trade, but on a much lesser scale.

The comment about how he hasn't shot the puck well since the hand injury kind of concerns me. Attitude was fun for Bergevin dislikers to make bad jokes with, but I think the team is looking at the Gallagher effect. They want more, 'fuck this isn't good enough' as opposed to, 'oh well, we tried hard but had bad luck'. How Drouin reacted to being with Gallagher rather than Galchenyuk was telling.

You think Bergevin is playing with house money right now ? He seems to have acquired the idea of a guy, thinks Domi will become more. Molson bought what he was selling and said, go for it, execute your plan. He can be as bold or weird as he wants, it's his last chance here.

Hearing #Oilers and #GoHabsGo have possibly reignited trade talks they had before and at deadline. Have heard numerous names but nothing that concrete yet. One thing is clear: Marc Bergevin is not done. First domino fell, now what's the next?

You've failed us Mac.

As you've seen, I have been busy.

It's too bad all the people that could really run the Habs are busy doing talk radio, writing blogs or posting on message boards.

Now, Lajoie is an imbecile, a cretin and a plagiarist, who to use author Dany Laferrière's deliciously withering expression, "lives beyond his intellectual means."

...as serious as a poutine shortage in Chicoutimi during a curling bonspiel...

There were discussions on a 3-way deal between Montreal, Arizona, and Pittsburgh, involving Galchenyuk, Domi, and Kessel.

#habs are definitely not done. They are talking to three teams who are interested in Pacioretty. Those teams are #predators #panthers and #kings
