A look at Teams who could be looking at Pacioretty and what the Habs should be looking at in their prospect pool.

It's too bad all the people that could really run the Habs are busy doing talk radio, writing blogs or posting on message boards.

It is certainly no guarantee that the Canadiens will trade captain Max Pacioretty. But they continue to listen as teams keep calling. The sense I get is that unless a team steps up with the kind of package that begins with a talented young centre, or something else that the Habs can’t refuse, Pacioretty is likely staying put through this trade deadline.

It’s not even 100 per cent that Tomas Plekanec gets moved despite the fact he’s a pending UFA. His fate can go either way over the next month and I think there’s still going to be some internal discussions on that one. Again, there may be an offer there from a Cup contender where it makes too much to trade him for an asset. We’ll see.

Step 01: "Convert" "centre" to winger

Step 02: Convert winger to centre

Step 03: Demand centre for winger

Per source, #Habs and #Ducks continue to discuss a Pacioretty deal. Bergevin does not feel pressured to make a move but talks ongoing.

No, he's a 2020 draft pick.

In any event I rate Hughes higher. He's scoring more than Eichel and Matthews did with the NTDP.

Per NHL source with direct knowledge of situation: "During last few weeks #Habs owner #GeoffMolson made it clear to everyone, future is now priority. How it is handled at deadline will play major role in future of management. If it means moving a big name will help future do it!"

MA Godin in the Athletic.

Habs could use excess cap space to take on bad contracts at the deadline and give other teams more cap space.

Note all of these vets are on expiring contracts, the goal is to get the prospect/pick.

His suggestions are to do one (or more) of the following

Take on a Prospect or Pick + Eric Fehr from the Leafs who are also at the 50 contract limit

Prospect + Matt Stajan from the Flames

Prospect + Chris Stewart and/or Kyle Quincey from the Wild

Prospect/Pick + Shawn Matthias from Winnipeg.

With this being the third tank in seven seasons Price has shown he's a good clean team player. Deprived himself of vitamin D just to get us Dahlin. Image
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

Trade Plek and whoever. Draft Dahlin and other players.

Sign Tavares.

Patch - Tavares - Scherbak
Drouin- Galch- Gallagher
Hudon- Danolt- Lehkonen
Shaw - DLR - Byron

Dahlin - Weber
Mete - Petry
Alzner- Juulsen

Price

Tell me this isn't winning a cup.

You haven't even factored in other players, they can win by Christmas, or by Befana coming at the very latest.
