Flipping one of those three guys for a young D with top pairing potential would be ideal, because we don't have much of that in the pipeline. Someone like Sergachev would be perfect.

PK needed Weber to mentor him..

I think having Sergachev now makes a lot of sense but in terms of pure value, Drouin and Sergachev are the same.

Do not mention that scum Domi to me again, Isoh.

They were the same, then Drouin had an abysmal year and Sergachev was great. Like, now Sergachev is a D that's a couple of years younger and just as productive as Drouin, who struggles defensively. Srgachev looks much better now.

That defense is pretty good. With a very young core in general on the team. 5 year window to win a cup.

There is no combination of Habs players that have worn the sweater at any point since 2009-2010 that can make a good roster. :colbert:
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

The team already had to do damage control because Melnyk opened his big yapper and said the team could have 16 rookies or something like that. That means only 5 veterans, and I don't think any of the good ones will want to stay, so Stone and Duchene are gone. Sens fans can rest easy though, knowing Borowiecki will ensure a smooth transition between the old core and the new.

Because they are small wingers. Little wingers.

For little wingers, it goes:

Soft and playmaking skillz: Drouin

Grit and lower playmaking skillz: Domi

Grit and grit and some goalscoring but less skillz: Gallagher

Pick your poison.

Need to balance that out in top 6 with some heavier more goal oriented guys....which evidently weren’t patch or galchenyuk...at least not if the team wasn’t otherwise clicking (*cough*defense and center*cough*

Agreed that Drouin/Domi and much cliser together, but add to those to Gallagher on your top 6 and it can be a problem.

Don't forget Lehkonen. And Byron. And Hudon.

Those are just worse little wingers. Dog was talking about the mediocre little wingers, not the totally unconsequential barely worth mentioning little wingers.

Keep up.

So what you are saying is that you want big wingers, not that Drouin and Gallagher are similar.

Space Oblivia, or The Abyss
With no trace of trivia, left with the hiss
Does it pay to be deaf, dumb and blind?
From a slave we was kept from the mind
And from the caves he crept from behind
And what he gave, was the sect of the swine
When the Bible, it condemned the pig
I don't mean to pull your hems or flip your wigs
But we used to wear a turban, but now we're in the urban
No more wearing beanies and dress like a Genie
No hocus pocus 'cuz I focus on the facts
And put it on the tracks and brought it through the wax
I speak on Jacob, it might take up some time
And too much knowledge, it might break up the rhyme
I did it anyway just to wake up the mind
Of those who kiss stones or prays on the carpet
Those who sit home, or sell books by the market
Need to chill and get their mind revived
For years, religion did nothing but divide

The basic instructions before leaving earth
Life is a test many quest the universe
And through my research, I felt the joy and the hurt
The first shall be last and the last shall be first
The basic instructions before leaving earth.

A few days old but new to me:

"He's going to be a big factor," Stevens said. "We put him with Drew [Doughty] on the point. The way he holds the puck, his deception with what he's going to do with it ... I think he's as good as I've ever seen. Peter [Forsberg] was good like that: When you thought he was shooting, he was passing; when you thought he was passing, he was shooting. Kovalchuk has the ability to do that."

We spoke with Kovalchuk this week in Los Angeles about his NHL return, selecting the Kings, his time in Russia, winning Olympic gold and much more.

Kovy to put up 50 goals? He never had the talent such as a Doughty to play with. Kopitar is going to slide them in his wheelhouse.
