So one week from the draft, there's a sudden surge of players in the expected top 5?

This'll be a particularly shitty draft :ernie:

A draft so good a bunch of teams get their marquee player, or a draft so bad you don't even want to remember.

Whomever we draft, we know it'll be a bust and that we will want to have drafted someone else by year 3, so why bother..?

Watched more late season Koko footage and there seemed to be pretty good progress during the season. The professional scouts might indeed know something that I don't.

He does look better in this video, he definitely has smarts, but his skating/puck skills combo screams middle 6 player to me. Just not fluid enough in his motion and edge work to execute at high speed. Good news is, those are things that can definitely improve in a player. Tkachuk has both better hands and better skating IMO. Obvs. never watched him play, but nothing I've seen says to me he has any high end skill of some sort.

Every draft year one player jumps up and one drops in pre-draft ratings. This year it's C Kotkaniemi with two arrows up and D Boqvist with arrows down. "Kotkaniemi is Kopitar good," said one scout. "Boqvist is really good with puck but he doesn't defend," said anothe scout.

As much as it wouldnt be my pick, there is a bit of sentimental appeal in the Habs having a Finnish first line centre that i could get behind.
