It's much harder to hate the Leafs now. They play really nice hockey the way hockey is supposed to be played. It's a far cry from the days of Tucker, Corson, Roberts, McCabe, Travis Green... Now I can only hate them because they're in Toronto. The Habs may have worked harder yesterday to keep themselves in it, but it was clear the Leafs were by far the better team. They just didn't need to work, so they didn't. If they trade Nylander for a good defenceman, they might even be stronger than the Sens of 2005-06, when Heatley, Spezza, Alfredsson could score at will.
But if the Habs play like this all year, it's going to be a great season. I wonder how much of this can be attributed to losing floaters like Galchenyuk and Pacioretty, and how much can be attributed to Ducharme. And how much can be attributed to not playing Karlarlrznr. I'm frankly disappointed in you all for your lack of enthusiasm at his benching.
Drouin did not have a great game. That was the only false note on the night. Rieilly, for a fifth defenceman, played extremely well. I agree that it'll be nice to see him and Mete alternate on Weber's pairing. Petry... on ice for two of Toronto's 3 goals, and partially at fault on both, though he had a good game overall. Unburdened from Karlarlrznr he might actually have a solid season.
