Some guy thinks the pathways along the Canal are amongst the most dangerous places in Canada and he's got the links to back it up. Another tard thinks that Puck Daddy knows more about ticket prices in Winnipeg than the Jets website. There's a new Sens mod that I've never heard of so he must have sucked someone's dick to get the job. John Holmes is still providing a voice of reason to the morons. And Manked is still trolling the lounge for cock.

Mark Stone had a goal and three assists as the Senators tie up the Eastern Conference Quarter Series at one game a piece.

They're sure emphasizing the 200' aspect of Lazar's game, promoting him as nhl ready. An awfully tantalizing prospect to develop a top line around. Training camp should be exciting.

Dzingle is also quietly adjusting to the pro's quite well. Finished off with 9GP 2G 5A and 7PTS. Luke Richardson has been all praise and using him quite a lot. Will be interesting player to follow next year. Especially given his high expectation within the team has well.

Dzingel missed the last Bingo game with an undisclosed injury, as did Puempel. Doesn't sound serious though.

Can't believe the Oil Kings beat a stacked Portland team, especially after how Game 6 ended in Edmonton. It was 5-2 Edmonton going into the 3rd, and they lost 6-5.

Realistic expectations of this kid on the low end have to be to take Jason Spezza's line-up spot, his number and the "C", at minimum.

I've seen a fair bit of Portland over the past couple of years... they're a lethal quick-strike team that make teams pay dearly for their mistakes, but are definitely prone to laziness and waiting around for PP opportunities as a result. The Oil Kings on the other hand are a team that can control entire games and don't make very many mistakes, and as a result just kind of slowly choke a team like that out of the game. After being down 2-0 in the series, they obviously figured out how to handle the Winterhawks, as they essentially only lost control of one of the last 5 games of the series, and that was after going up 5-2.

holy moly is lazar special. They are 10 minutes and hes literally done everything.

Powerplay goal parked out front? check
board play dominance ? check
faceoffs in the offensive zone? check
feeds for easy goal? check
pk breakup that leads to a breakaway? check
throw body around without being wreckless? check

he plays like bergeron, except without those early years when his body got destroyed from trying to do too much

Bergeron is just a much more composed player now than he was when he first came in. He was taking out ACLs every other game, and got his head knocked in a dozen times before he figured out how to have high compete and not border on suicidal. I think Lazar has that same compete level and great talent level to go with it. I dont know if that means he will have the same effect as Bergeron, but I think that potential is there.

Doesnt hurt that he plays his best in games that matter and is almost always on the winning side of each play.

It was interesting that so many players from last year's 1st round were playing in the Memorial Cup this year, including many that were available to Ottawa as alternatives to picking Lazar...

Guelph - Dickinson, Rychel
London - Domi, Horvat, McCarron, Zadorov
Val d'Or - Mantha

The two names that were most frequently mentioned around the same draft pick as Lazar were Mantha and Rychel, and really I think you could easily make a case for any of those three still. What's interesting is that Mantha and Rychel were both playing top-line roles, whereas because of the prominence of the 20yo Henrik Samuelsson, Lazar accomplished what he did this year from the Oil Kings' 2nd line. I guess it's a matter of opinion as to whether that's a good or bad sign, but if you can score 40 goals and lead your team in playoff goals without top-line support, be repeatedly cited as the backbone forward of your team, wear a letter ahead of a player like Samuelsson, and take home things like the sportsmanship award at the Memorial Cup tournament after scoring the 3OT goal that got your team to the Finals, then it's kind of hard not to acknowledge his potential.

If nothing else, I'm glad that Val d'Or didn't win that 3OT semi-finals game... because if I had to hear that Sportsnet panel discuss yet again how Bibeau was a Leafs draft pick and therefore infinitely more interesting than anyone else playing in the game, I swear I was going to lose it. The sense of entitlement around that Guelph team was also pleasing to watch crumble, led of course by fellow Leafs prospect Matt Finn. Add a complete faceplant performance by the offspring of Tie Domi, and you basically have the trifecta of Leafs-related failure, nice and close to their backyard.

I am going to thoroughly enjoy Max Domi spending the next 7-8 years in anonymity playing for Phoenix, so I dont have to read about his love interests or the importance of his hockey dad.

Hes basically a more famous version of kadri, which would be hard to deal with on a consistent basis.

Van Stralen would be worth a minor league deal to play Bingo/ECHL. Improved a lot over his OHL career. Leblanc and Murphy are also good invitees.

Who is Tomas Kral and why are they bringing him in from the Czech Republic for camp? They couldn't find a shooter tutor closer to home? Is he related to Burda and wanted to fast track a visa or something?

And I assume this closes the book on the Tim Boyle era, two years removed from him being a 4th rounder. That's not surprising, he's a 21 year old who played last year in the USPHL. Most bizarre pick since Brad Peltz.
