Re: OT: Stupid People Saying Stupid Things
Sorry about that. We were getting errors trying to bring over more than 1M posts (we had 2.7M or so on the old version). Trying to fix those errors one by one manually would have been days of work. So we just grabbed the ~1M most recent ones.

Re: OT: Stupid People Saying Stupid Things
Actually, I did fix all the errors one by one, manually. There were dozens.
The problem was the conversion script ran out of resources at around a million posts. I would have had to rewrite it to fix it and fuck that noise.

Anybody have any suggested destinations in upstate New York for a bachelor party? Key priorities would be driving distance to Ottawa, beer, golf and maybe minor league baseball. Auburn, NY is the lead contender.

If beer is your number one priority, I'd go with Vermont over upstate NY.

Re: OT: Stupid People Saying Stupid Things
That depends on how you define beer, doesn't it?
If you want baseball and beer, why not just go to Cooperstown? There's a golf course practically in town, a good brewer in town (Ommegang) and the baseball hall of fame. I think they run some college baseball league thing in the summer in that historic stadium of theirs.

I'm in Iceland right now...people are less gay here than in Montreal. I've always thought Europeans to be gayer than montrealers, it's quite the opposite.

An Icelandic hostel owner tried to pick up my girlfriend while I was standing right there beside her. When I mentioned this to him, he just shrugged and moved on.

I heard that in Iceland the women are extremely attractive and the men are ugly as sin.

Ttracer wrote:The fact Ottawa is even reaching out to Gatineau is a disgrace. Working for the greater good of hockey sounds OK, but have you seen some of the local arenas in this city? Most local arenas are dumps, they should be bulldozed and built to NA standards. I will boycott the Senators if they fund Gatineau with anything, especially with the Senators name on it.
Ttracer wrote:You actually want a Sens arena on Quebec soil? That's so insane. Sensplex 1 is a great complex, far away from the media and fans. We still make it out but still. Focus on hockey not helping the Gatineau Olympiques have a better building. When was the last time Quebec invested in Ottawa hockey? This is extremely controversial imo, we have the 67s and tons of rep teams that play in horrible arenas. I will be irate if anything with a Senators name on it pops up in Quebec

Re: OT: Stupid People Saying Stupid Things
Saving the 'Piques in Gatineau is likely to generate a tad more goodwill than buying and renovating yet another public arena like Mlacak.
Nobody seems to have noticed that Potvin turned into the Sensplex East. Nobody cares. People will notice the Olympiques being saved.

Why the **** would anyone want to model their approach on a team that sucks, and especially a team that we easily beat in the playoffs with the MIGHTY Karlsson leading the way?
Subban can and should be used to the benefit of the team, not the benefit of an individual as with Karlsson.

Pretty sure the Habs fan that wrote that doesn't know himself.
This whole idea that we are even important is a fucking illusion. We’re just an accident left to our own devices.

It pretty clear that he thinks doughty won a Stanley cup, Karlsson isn't good because he hasn't, and Subban is better than both because he hasn't won a cup either.
Jeez guys, follow along...

What kind of idiot would have Edmonton ahead of Ottawa or think that the youngest team in the league can't improve by standing pat?

Well, the Oilers do have three the-next-Crosby's in their lineup.
Or is it four? I've lost count over the years.

He gets really butthurt when you talk about how Weber is wasting his career in Nashville. There was a giant thread about how Nashville should trade Weber to a hockey market or an actual contender and he vomited pages and pages about how wrong and unfair it was.
