GDT: Blue Waffles

Chlapik out injured so the Sens are playing with 7-D.

The Sens are only 6 points out of last place, so the lottery tank race is on.

My heavens, Ottawa is -39 in goal differential.

Last time I looked I think they were -7.

I’m into the stats tonight. Anderson and Condon are #40 and #41 respectively in sv%. Only 45 goaltenders are on the list.

Anderson is also #41 on his jersey. Coincidence?

Staring at the tv watching this robotic march to game 82, it all seems so clear.

To sum this team up, they play too many unskilled players in a system that allows too few offensive zone minutes. Their six defensmen are below average as a group, and their goaltenders are not covering up their mistakes.

I havent been checking the nhl standings page much lately either. When we are in a playoff race its like my home page. But now, just dont even want to look. Blues get 1 min of time in our zone, we get 15 secs in theirs. Long way to ride out the season. Wonder how many can flip the switch next year. #1G and #1D would be nice. A lot of organizations love to time their resurgence to match opening night of a new arena. Dont know how far away we are based on todays announcement. Ive never liked the idea of deciding to tank, i always want to go for it, but when tanking is thrust upon you, better be cold man

This team hasn't had a top 5 pick in 17 years.

Maybe after getting screwed by the lottery in 2011, we can finally hit the jackpot this year. Something to look forward to.

Exactly, getting the first overall pick might be what we need to drive an actual rebuild.
