Re: Zan Tabak to Kyle Lowry: The Toronto Raptors Thread
Wiggins is a far superior defender to DeMar though. Kawhi is the dream, though I doubt that happens. I bet they keep the same roster next year too.
Maybe Ibaka for Aldridge would be something we could swing since LaMarcus wants out. I dunno. Lets see.

Aldridge no longer wants out and had the best season of his career. Him and Pop worked it out over last offseason and he carried the team this year. Wiggins has been pretty poor defensively too. He's been a major let down on both sides of the ball and is getting paid a boatload. Something else needs to change, though. The PF and SF positions (unless OG progresses next year) have been extremely inconsistent and at starting lineup was basically playing as a 3-man unit. The depth could not make up for that.

Wiggins is a younger version of Demar with more athleticism and less work ethic, pass.

I think the Raptors need to try and accumulate picks and prospects, and open up cap space to give yourself the opportunity to do something big when a big fish becomes available. It's not my favorite plan, but I don't know what else you can do in this system.

Can't even hate. Doing some legendary stuff this year, it's been fun to watch. Hoping Rockets can take the West though without Paul they are in tough.

Yes, which is why I'd like the Rockets to make it. If it's Golden State then it'll be over in 5.

I feel the same way. Even though I think a healthy Rockets team is the best team in the NBA, I think the Cavs actually have a shot against them. GS, however, is just too strong defensively, and at too many positions for Lebron to overcome them alone.

It's not choking when you don't have CP3, and are going up against arguably the best constructed team of all time.

Re: Zan Tabak to Kyle Lowry: The Toronto Raptors Thread
The Philadelphia 76ers may have a public relations crisis on their hands.
A bombshell investigation by Ben Detrick of The Ringer found five burner accounts that are believed to have been operated by 76ers general manager Bryan Colangelo.
Detrick explained that he received an anonymous tip about the accounts, and began to investigate. He eventually presented his findings to Colangelo, who admitted to operating one of the accounts - although he distanced himself from the other four.
Through those five accounts, Colangelo allegedly disseminated private information about players and lobbied media members to pursue certain narratives against his own players and rival executives. The accounts even repeatedly defended the size of Colangelo's famously oversized shirt collars.
Here's a summary of what Detrick reports that Colangelo said through his anonymous burner accounts:
Criticized Joel Embiid for being "selfish and a bit lazy" and "out of shape"
Said the 76ers should trade Embiid for Kristaps Porzingis "in a heart (beat)"
Said Nerlens Noel was "bad for locker room" and that he was a "selfish punk"
Downplayed former 76ers GM Sam Hinkie's efforts to rebuild the team and accused Hinkie of cultivating support from the media through leaks
Hinted that Jahlil Okafor wouldn't pass his physical
Blamed Markelle Fultz's sudden shooting woes on his trainer and alleged that the trainer had a relationship with Fultz's mother
Slammed Raptors president Masai Ujiri for being a "trust fund baby" and "living off" the pieces Colangelo left behind

Well, Durant was outed last year for having alts on Twitter and Instagram and getting into arguments with fans. Insecure pussy couldn't handle the traitor taunts and callouts

Everyone knows that the Finals next year will be Golden State versus whichever team in the east that James decides to play for. If he goes to the Western Conference the finals will be four straight again.

Awful. Durant didn't need to go join them. I don't blame them for Curry, Green and Klay, they were picked seventh, eleventh and second round. That was just astute drafting. Adding KD to a 73 win team is criminal.

Just came to post this. He's the guy that everyone will be targeting but San Antonio, being a smart organization, is going to look for the perfect fit for them. I could see something based around Anunoby, Lowry/DeRozan, etc. Leonard's value is also lessened due to missing almost the entire year and fighting with the most well run organization in North American sports.

Supposedly he wants to go to LA lol. Don't think Pop wants anything to do with any Lakers players, they ain't Spurs material.

The Raptors aren't getting Kawhi, he will go to Los Angeles with George and maybe Lebron. The Raptors can't really match what the Lakers could offer (Ball/Kuzma/Ingram/Randle).

Re: Zan Tabak to Kyle Lowry: The Toronto Raptors Thread
Depends on what the Spurs want to do, do they want to be competitive, or do they want to embark on a full rebuild? If they remain competitive, maybe they do look at taking DeRozan and fixing his defensive woes. That means they'd have to get rid of Gay, but I think he'd fit quite well with Patty Mills and LaMarcus.
I don't think we're getting Kawhi, nor do I particularly care to have him. If you think you're better than the Spurs, then you are a fucking fool.

Re: Zan Tabak to Kyle Lowry: The Toronto Raptors Thread
So the Raptors are now the favorite to land Leonard. It’s badically guaranteed that he’d be a rental. The price is going to be some combination of DeRozan, Lowry, Poeltl, Siakam, Powell, Wright, Anunoby and two first round picks.

Kawhi is a strange dude, I don't think he is a guaranteed rental. Just a few months ago he was saying that he wanted to finish his career as a Spur. The Raptors should risk it to try and trade and re-sign him, it's really the only opportunity they have to add a superstar.

That was right before Parker and Ginobili called him out for missing time. Right after that he stopped travelling with the team and got distant.

I know, that really doesn't change anything that I said. Things can change in a year as people saw with Paul George, the Raptors should go all in here. If it works they have the second or third best player in the world when healthy, and if it doesn't they need to reshuffle next summer which is likely in the cards anyways.
