I’ve already accepted that. I don’t think he’d be a good fit on teams like the Knicks but they’re probably willing to offer him far more money and term than the Raptors will be comfortable with.

It just kinda sucks because the team is going to go from having a FVV/Lowry guard combo to...Davis and McCaw in a year or two? It would have been nice to find a way to keep FVV around.

Trust in Masai (if he stays hopefully). With the next man up mentality someone else will step up I bet. Or maybe we target Oladipo.

Sucks that Davis is a scumbag moron because he had some really good potential.

Oladipo makes a ton of sense to me, and he is someone that can help entice Giannis in a year.

If Giannis stays in Milwaukee because of their recent moves, he's an idiot.

I really want that rumour about the Clips trading George for Westbrook to be true. They'll never win a ring with that guy.

So, this Anthony Edwards kid sounds like a real piece of work, lol....

He says he doesn't think about being the first player taken. He'll be ready when the time comes, but "other than that, I don't even care."

"To be honest," he says, "I can't watch basketball."

He retells the story about the first time he dunked and how it signaled to him that he was talented and could accomplish something he might not have been able to in football, which was his first love. So that's the direction he went, simple as that, hanging up his cleats. "That's all I needed to see," he says.

So when after that did he get into basketball?

"I'm still not really into it," he says. "I love basketball, yeah. It's what I do."

He's not entirely convincing. He says if he were drafted by the NFL tomorrow, he'd let basketball go. "Because you can do anything on the field," he explains. "You can spike the ball. You can dance. You can do all type of disrespectful stuff." In the NBA, he says, "you can't do any of that. You'll get fined."

He goes on to say that he's an aspiring rapper. He's already recorded a few tracks with his older brother Bubba. So, like Damian Lillard? "But I really can rap," he says. "Dame, talking about -- I don't know what he's talking about. I'm rapping like Lil Baby." He says he won't release any songs until he's established in the NBA.

That explains why there were reports his interviews haven’t gone well. Him and Ball have massive red flags. If I were the T-Wolves I’d look at the Israeli kid instead.

Batum being waived by the Hornets to sign Hayward, if he's available on the cheap at the SF, the Raptors should be all over that.

Next year is kind just treading water anyway. They just have to be decent enough to be an attractive landing spot for a star. Having Ibaka for one year or not doesn't matter.

I'm psyched that FVV came back though. Him, Pete and a star could be a great team in a couple years.

I think KLow gets another three year deal next year at like 12M per or something and will retire a Raptor. He shouldn't go anywhere else at this point IMO. OG, Pascal, FVV, KLow and Giannis is a championship roster.

Baynes isn't bad. Stretches the floor and plays good D. But yes, losing both Ibaka and Gasol is going to hurt us for sure.

Gasol and Ibaka are limited and Nurse basically used them as a singular player depending on the situation. Baynes is a decent enough consolation prize while they see what Boucher is and wait for Giannis.

Not thrilled about Baynes, but this year is going to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things anyway. Raptors will still win 50 games and it will be fine.

Harrell is pretty awful defensively, and was thoroughly exposed in the playoffs. He's also not a great shooter and fairly one-dimensional offensively, as he finds most of his success on the PnR. You are overrating him and underrating Ibaka. Ibaka @ 2 yrs on MLE is an excellent pick-up no matter which way you look at it.

Ibaka @ 2 yrs on MLE is an excellent pick-up no matter which way you look at it.

He's still miles better than Ibaka.

Ibaka had good help D instincts and was a freak athlete. He was, maybe, the worst fundamental basketball player on the team. That guy could not take a pass on a fast break too far away to dunk it. He was dropping it or dribbling off his foot.

He was a key piece on a championship team. Left by his choice. So long.

He barely played last year so if he does, it'll be a surprise.

The amount of times a possession died because he tried to dribble the ball...

Ibaka, like modern day Gasol, is an incomplete player and the Raptors were able to maximize his talents and utilize him in positions that were to his benefit. He won't be getting that with the Clippers. He's still a very good pick-up for them, though. He's more versatile than Harrell and can be anything from a starter to a high-end bench player.

It's just not a big loss. Amazed some people are upset. So silly.

It’s definitely the most replaceable position in the team. They’ve brought in Len to be the 3rd guy in that C rotation.

People just like the guy, and the fact he went to the Clippers is annoying. We all hate LA.

Was wondering if they had a 3rd big man in mind. Len will do.
