Montreal Habs should be all over this, as long as they can get McPhee to eat some of the contract.

The primary reason he signed there was to simply just get into the NHL. Tough to say if he would have been trusted at that contract with another club.
And then it gives Vegas a toy to play with in the market.
He's happy, they're happy.

McPhee is a fucking retard. All of this just because he's too scared to waive a depth defender.

Vegas wins again, this time 7-0 to Colorado. Are teams just getting tanked before playing there?

8-1-0 and their top forward by ice time is Cody Eakin and their #2 and #3 d-men are Luca Sbisa and Deryk Engelland.

I told my scab buddy they were fucked with Julien. They don't have the horses down the middle, he'd stifle their offense. Surely I hope they fire bargainbin and hold onto him for a few years.

Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

They had to win it in overtime after blowing a two goal lead in the final 53 seconds, but that's really neither here nor there.

Kerry Fraser: My battle with cancer

I bet he didn't see it coming.

FWIW, I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, not even Fraser. It may be incurable but it sounds like he at least has a plan to mitigate the risk of any clotting.

NHL is truly terrible at keeping up with the latest technology and trends. They have been completely outclassed in that area by the other major leagues. NBA in particular is night and day in comparison with their marketing, website and social media presence.

Calgary called up Rasmus Andersson, the analytics community is really high on him. Perhaps a possible trade target for the Leafs due to the fact that Calgary is looking for scoring help. Maybe something like Leivo +?

Either Turris or Brassard would be my guess.
If it's Chabot, it addresses Colorado's needs, but I'll be shocked.

Turris to Nash
Duchene to Ottawa
Girard (very slick Dman) and Kamenev to Colorado

Not a bad return for Duchene.
Turris fills a very important need for Nash.
If Duchene doesn't perform very well, that's alot to give up from Ottawa.

Yep. Ottawa will be facing the same problem with Duchene as they did with Turris a year from now.

EDIT: Ottawa has to re-sign Stone this summer, and after next season Duchene, Karlsson, and Brassard are up. All while Ryan, Phaneuf, and MacArthur are on the cap. They spend a few million short of the cap, but boy is that going to be tough. You really hope White, Brown, and Chabot can be core pieces on ELCs.

According to Friedman:

OTT gets: Duchene
OTT gives: Turris, 1st rounder, 3rd rounder, Shane Bowers, Andrew Hammond

NAS gets: Turris
NAS gives: Samuel Girard, Vladislav Kamenev, 2nd rounder

COL gets: 1st, 2nd, 3rd rounders, Girard, Kamenev, Bowers, Hammond
COL gives: Duchene

Kamenev was a 2nd rounder in 2014, Girard a 2nd in 2016 and Bowers a 1st in 2017.

That's a huge haul for Colorado, but still, what a fucking disaster that franchise is. They've given up two #1 centreman for picks and prospects in the last couple of years. They can't even keep their franchise player who grew up an Avalanche fan.

I have no idea what Marincin's analytics were like prior to making the NHL or if that even existed then. I have only recently come across advanced stats for AHL players.

Decent return for Duchene, Girard could be an offensive stud from the back end, Hammond is a quality backup and those picks add depth to a rebuilding organization.

Meh, Duchene is pretty overrated to be honest, good player no doubt but I think Ottawa comes out the loser here. The difference on Turris was one fucking year. If they think Duchene can take on the defensive minutes that Turris provides then they are sadly mistaken.

They seem pretty desperate for bottom 6 help.
I'm not going to go down the rabbit hole of random trade proposals, but shirley there's gotta be a fit there between us and them. Probably for a draft pick.
