Dude is the biggest piece of shit. If he was from Europe Don Cherry would be trying to rouse a lynch mob.

Something really bad happened to Marchand as a child. Short man’s complex can’t explain everything he does.

The fact that Cherry is also a Bruins homer doesn't help

Im actually kind of hoping Martin dresses for game one against them in the playoffs, skates up and suckers him hard enough to end his season, if not his career. Take one for the team. Smash his nose into pieces.

Will be tough for him to be appropriately given some privacy after this tragic event.
The media must be able to find out how awkward EK and Melnyk are with eachother!
Hopefully the sadness of the situation fends off the media frenzy for the rest of the season.

And one dude says "Horton left because Seguin made a move on his wife and then Seguin ends up being shipped anyway lol"

That video is funny AF. Also, have we heard that rumour about Seguin and Horton before?

Adam Mascherin is refusing to sign with the Panthers and will go back into the draft, unless the Panthers can trade him first.

It appears to be because the Panthers basically stopped talking to him last year and didn't invite him to either rookie camp or training camp. Some Florida apologists on twitter are saying it's because he had shoulder surgery over the summer, but that's a stupid reason not to invite him to camp and he was in Kitchener's lineup for their opener on September 22nd.

This looks like another dumb fucking move from the same dumb fucking franchise that fired Gerard Gallant for some reason, and had that weird episode of musical chairs with Tallon and the GM position. Never trust someone with a name like Vinnie Viola, boys.

So the Avs will have to rest their playoff hopes on the shoulders of Nelson Mandela?

Taken from reddit;

Suspensions and Fines

Umberger - Elbow to Head, 2 Games
Niskanen - Slew-foot, $2500 Fine
Salo - Clipping, gave Salo a concussion, 5 games
Brassard - Slew-foot, 2 Games
Borowiecki - Clipping, 3 Games
Kulikov - Boarding, broken nose, Game Misconduct
Kronwall - Slew-foot, $10 000
Dotchin - Spearing, 2 Games
Johansson - Elbowing, gave him a concussion, and has missed 31 games, 5 Games

Questionable Actions

Marchand crosschecks MacDonald
Marchand grabbing Frolik's face shield, which was there to protect his broken jaw.
Marchand slashing attempt on JVR
Marchand punches Plekanec before the play
Marchand boards James Neal
Marchand punching Daniel Sedin repeatedly
6 Suspensions, 3 fines, $872,522.61 in forfeited salary, and only 19 games lost. Remember Johansson missed 31 and as a result of Marchand's actions. His lack of remorse and repeated attempts to ruin players should remove any respect for his "elite" abilities.

What a fucking idiot George Parros is.

At this point Marchand should be on the Raffi Torres program where the league has him on a clear path to a lifetime ban, because he's clearly proven that he isn't going to stop trying to injure other players otherwise. Just in the last two months he's knocked Johnasson out for 30+ games, he's probably ended Anthony Duclair's season, and now he's crosschecked another guy in the face. And he's still only getting fined.

This is what you get when you put a brain damaged goon in charge of player safety.

Man I was wrong about Parros. Thought he'd do a good job, as he is actually a pretty smart / well-spoken guy off the ice and has an Economics degree from Princeton but so far his track record with player safety has looked poor to say the least. Then again, Shanahan also had his questionable moments.

Yeah, I think there is definitely some interference. I mean, we saw how fucking embarrassing those e-mails were that got leaked a few years back. In particular Colin Campbell came off as a complete retard during his time as head of player safety.

The funny thing is that it isn't a complicated job. In fact, they write out a few lines of code that would do perfectly fine.

Conspiracy theorist in me thinks they do this on purpose so they always have a 'get out of jail free' card to play if one of the league's stars does something totally stupid. I'm talking about guys like Ovi/Crosby/McJesus - guys they feel they absolutely must have in the games as much as possible.

Of course, they could just as well be retards over there. Either way it's annoying.

Adam Larsson has 13 points this season. Taylor Hall has 15 points in his last 7 games (and 78 points in the 68 games before that). :rudy:

Peter Chiarelli couldn't possible still have a job after this season, could he?

Hall has been amazing this year. 93 points on the season, next closest on the team is the rookie Hischier with 51. As long as the Devils clinch you gotta think he's the Hart favourite.

Hall's been something else.

Doesn't exactly play centre, log 2:12 SH TOI for the league's second best PK unit while putting up the same offensive production on a similar offensively starved team though, does he? Image
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

19/50

The increase in point totals relative to last year is pretty crazy. If you rank this year against last in terms of points (despite the extra couple of games), 31 out of the top 50 are from this season.

Last season saw only one player score more than 90 (McDavid), this season has 7 (might go up to 9)

I think they'll increase by quite a bit still. Hall can now skate recklessly with his head down without fear of having it detached. The league is only going to get faster and smaller, allowing the skilled guys to rack up the points. 90 is the new 70. Hope the GM adjust the contracts accordingly.

It's funny, I grew up in the era when European players were first making headway in the league. And basically all the knuckleheads and Don Cherrys of the world were crying and moaning that eventually the Euros would infect the game and turn it into a soft Sunday skate minus a few incidents of stick swinging and other dirty (non-hitting or fighting) play. Here we are in 2018 and I watch Marchand skate around jumping at people, slewfooting others, throwing sticks and elbows into faces like it's no thing when had he pulled that in 1982, he would've ended up in the hospital with a fractured orbital ridge and a pulverized nose. Well, actually, he would've never made the league at all because he's a tiny little puke. While I hate to give any truck to those who predicted this, they weren't entirely wrong even if their reasoning was a little faulty. Obviously it wasn't "Euros" who changed the league but a growing awareness of the impact of head injuries. But, the result is pretty much what they foresaw.

It's great for Taylor Hall and Marner and I love the speed and skill those guys play with. On the other hand, it's opened up a space for some of the shittiest stuff I recall seeing. Not that there weren't violent acts back then, of course. It's just that they were done with the full knowledge that you were going to have to pay the piper eventually for them so only the bravest would dare. Terrible Ted Lindsay was a fucking surgeon with his stick, but he took as well as he gave. Wendel used to run everyone, but he dropped the gloves regularly with guys twice his size for the privilege.

without having watched a second of cherry's meandering senility this season, i'm going to assume that he fully supports marchand's actions this season. coincidentally, of course, marchand is a canadian who plays for the boston bruins. i'm sure that'd have nothing to do with it though, right?
