His contract was for 88 million bucks, where did they get 2.6 million from? Surely agents charge more than 3%?

In the graph that the guy quotes (which doesn't show up in the first tweet when posted here) Doughty mentions the 3% himself.

Man, if your agent is only taking 3% you should probably just keep your agent. I figured they got like 10.

Rumors that Karlsson is going to TB. I guess the idea is to have him for 1 year and that's it? Kucherov's next deal is going to be huge...

TB blowing their load on one year may not be the worst thing in the world. It will hurt this year, but long term I am ok with them depleting their farm for one all in year.

I wonder if they try to re-sign Karlsson or not. I'm not even sure how they make it work. They'll need to trade 2-3 guys away and let a few walk in UFA as well.

After Johnson's full NTC kicked in, a player Tampa could have sold, it will actually end well for Ottawa. A 1 for 1 with Point will be proposed without a doubt (and will be shot down by TB). After that it's some combination of picks and quality specs that include Sergachev, Gourde, Koekkoek, Ingram, Stephans, Volkov.

Was thinking the same thing. They traded assets at the deadline, too (although retaining McD helps that)

They aren't *old* though. Will compete for years with their core, depending on what happens with Kucherov.

Boston's days are numbered.

Ottawa is going to get fucking ROASTED this year and they don't even have their 1st round pick.

I'm expecting Montreal to compete for Hughes.

Buffalo has Eichel and Dahlin but suck otherwise.

Florida is perfectly mediocre. They might be in the worst long term position.

I'm hoping Tampa gives up a king's ransom in both trade return and contract extension for Karlsson.

And on top of that, Cup expectations would be back squarely on the Bolts instead of the Leafs.

Please make it so, Stevie Y.

Ottawa is a fucking disaster. The league needs to get Melnyk the fuck out of there, this is more embarrassing than Phoenix.

If the options are give Tom Wilson $5 million, or let someone else give Tom Wilson $5 million, definitely let someone else make that mistake.

When we signed Clarkson he scored 30 goals and was on pace for 26 during the lockout in back-to-back seasons. Tom Wilson has scored 35 total goals his entire five year career.

Connor Brown and Tom Wilson were taken in the same draft 140 picks apart.
Brown has as many goals as Wilson in 220 less gp.

How many negotiations with 3rd line players now start with the GM pre-emptively saying to the agent, "and don't even bring that Tommy Wilson shit in here"?

So Mark Stone's arb is starting and the Sens are offering 5 mil and he's seeking 9! That's a big distance to cover.

Also, watching people on twitter say Stone is a top 5 winger in the league and comparing him to Kucherov reminds me why I hate so much hockey disscusion.

It's just a dance. Ott will go really low, player goes high, and they meet in the middle. 7 mill sounds about right for Stone anyway.

Jeff Skinner gone to Buffalo for Cliff Pu and 2nd, 3rd and 6th round picks.

Was this new clown owner in Carolina brought in to kill the franchise? He might be just what Quebec needs.
