Vlad Jr. hurt, not expected to be serious. But this is your 2018 Blue Jays.

He's fine, I was in Binghamton for the series. He was in the dugout for todays double header, and looked to be walking just fine before the rain hit.

Jeff Conine's kid hit a HR on top of a scoreboard yesterday. Ultimately had 3 HRs in a doubleheader. Looks like he has a nice case of roid rage already too

Huh, I forgot about this kid. Didn't realize he was Japanese-Brazilian too. Relevant to my interests since I'm getting a Brazilian friend of mine into baseball.

Don't know if the radar gun was hot or not, but if Pardinho is anywhere close to 97 MPH at 17 that is just ridiculous. The Jays signed him for his control, feel for pitching and command. If he starts throwing heat he could be special, assuming health of course.

Osuna retroactively, since May 8th, suspended 75 games. Suspension ends on August 4th. Third longest suspension under the domestic violence provision. Osuna will not appeal.

This will be different if he’s convicted. Neither Chapman nor Reyes were ever charged.

Holy shit that was an outstanding home run and catch by Grichuk.

Also, the Yankees are the main player for JA Happ. If we can get Clint Frazier out of them for Happ, boyyyyyyy.

Ryan Borucki doing good things again against the Yankees today. All he's done over two games started against the Yankees and Astros is allow three runs over 13 innings with an era of 2.08 and striking out 8. Walks are a little troublesome, but he's done a good job thus far. Another Alex Anthopoulos find!

Oh traded to Rockies for two older high-A giant mashing first basemen. Happ on his way out over the next few days. Granderson, Clippard, Axford, and Loup expected to go as well. Solarte apparently being dangled, surprisingly. Donladson and Osuna likely but slim chance they are gone before the non-waiver deadline.

I don't think I've watched a single game from beginning to end all season, and I am a fan that typically watches upwards of 100 games a year from start to finish. My interest has mainly been on the Fisher Cats, at least until Vlad Jr went down.

Big advantage of being in the west coast is games start at 4pm. We just throw them on while doing chores, cooking, and playing with the little. This is definitely not as interesting as previous years but the wife still likes to have a sport on.

Turns out it’s Forrest Wall not Bouchard in the trade. 22 y/o CF in A+. Fangraphs has him as their 7th best prospect.

Happ to Yankees for Brandon Drury and Billy McKinney

Re: The Vector Unemployment/Blue Jays Thread

Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2018 3:55 pm
by Vector
McKinney might be something. Profiles as Ben Gam if everything comes together.

Drury is meh. Could be a good utility guy but has had a lot of chances. Plus the INF is extremely clogged. If no infielders are moved there’s potential for Donaldson, Solarte, Diaz, Guerriel, Travis, Drury, Smoak, Guerrero, and Bichette in September.

Guerrero will not be a Blue Jay this year. These bean counters only care about the service clock. Great return they finagled for Happ

I actually like Drury, he has good underlying numbers and has mashed at the minor league level. Kind of meh on McKinney.

Guerrero and Bichette will not be called up in September as it will burn a year off of their service time.

I am aware but I still think there’s a chance due to poor ticket sales and TV ratings. I would prefer they just move them to AAA and give them the opportunity to make the team next year, though.

My issue with Drury is he’s had over 1000 abs and hasn’t done anything with them. His defensive and running stats have been poor too. Would rather him than Solarte at this point.

Not even Vlady Jr would be enough to pull me into caring about this team as a whole for rest of season. Just keep him away from the flames.

The return from Happ was a bit underwhelming. I understand he's mid 30s and a low 4 era, but it's essentially "meh" for "meh". Atleast Drury is younger and has some cheap control.
