You can't do that once a week and get away with it.

Komorov and that play were the only two times all night we cared there was a Minny player by the net. Do it every shift and it won't get called. We don't

Edit. Perfect example. Rielly rubbed his back after that drive to the net.

Jake has been fumbling the puck all over the defensive zone and creating problems because of it. Lots of soft plays with the puck which is not great with Minny’s forecheck going hard. In the offensive zone he’s given the puck away multiple times on forced plays into the middle of the ice instead of being patient.

You're welcome to cherry pick while we get outshot 2 to 1.

He just out muscled Stewart on the forecheck and got out of the zone.

No defenseman is completing a pass outside their own zone when the forwards blow the zone

Just because he’s struggling elsewhere doesn’t mean that he’s done everything wrong. I can’t be the only one to think that he looks nowhere near as good as he did last year.

If he wants someone to blame the first person should probably be himself for the .884 SV% he put up that gave San Jose the idea that they needed a better backup. Next he should maybe blame the Sharks for insisting he be added to the deal. Low on the list of people to blame should be the team that gave him a chance that he wasn't entitled to even though they didn't want him or have any use for him.

But god dammit, he was DISGUSTED to look at that hotel again!

Satisfactory win against a team we should beat. Would love to sweep the Bruins this weekend but we probably take 1/2

I'm surprised the internet sleuths haven't found the original source of Matthews injury yet. (Maybe they have and i didnt find it) There was a Leipsic slash, but he was hurt before that game.

Considering the preseason clamp on slashes to the hands, as I've said, that call has immediately become subjective.

I've seen some people speculating that it's a back injury, which I could believe to be honest.

One guy said this:

People are saying wrist, but I think it may be his back. Apparently he had a similar issue a while back, and back soreness would explain having issues taking face offs, being able to play but not wanting to aggravate the injury, etc. I didn't really notice much of a difference in Matthews' stickhandling (which would be consistent with a wrist problem), but I did notice he wasn't moving quite as well, which would make sense if his back was troubling him. I'm of the opinion that Matthews wouldn't be sitting out for a wrist issue unless it was severe enough to really bug him, in which case it would have been much more noticeable in how he handles the puck, since his particular style of stickhandling is quite wrist-heavy. Of course, I could be wrong, but I think the commentators are making bad speculations.
