That might be the worst shootout move of all time.

Fuck that was close. Mo had one shift where he hit the post twice and we were inches away from putting another 3 past Vasilevskiy.

Dermott didn't see the ice tho.

Zaitsev is like a robot who is programmed to chip it up the boards or off the glass. Frustrating as fuck when he clearly has the skills to make a god damn pass.

We might as well pack it in for this year.

This game was pretty similar to the last Tampa one. Strong first period where the Leafs were the better team, followed by playing on their tails for the next 40 minutes (more so this time). Not sure what Cooper does to make his team adjust but damn are they good at it. Willy had a couple of nice chances but got caved in pretty badly otherwise...good learning experience for him.

In the post-game Babs talked about how he didn't like the 5-on-3. He said he threw out that unit and was expecting a quick whistle so that he could get Nylander and Marner out there but that never happened. He didn't want to put out Marner and Nylander for the 4-on-3 and end up with them tired for the 5-on-3.

That is a defensible move.
