Video Games and Some Guy who Eats Pie

At least it worked out for the Oilers.

What the fuck is the point in preordering DLC packs from Gamestop? Preordered the expansions for Destiny 2 and they give me a code that is just a $36 Microsoft store gift card. The expansion pack is 35+ tax so it didn't even cover everything completely

My switch has become a portable Skyrim machine and I couldn't be happier with it.

My boy plays Xbox 9/10 over the Switch at this point. I know he likes both but he still prefers Xbox. I'm a bit surprised as the Switch is a really cool idea and I think they executed it well. I've joked with him I'm going to take it soon if he doesn't play with it more.

If you're at home it makes sense to play the PS4 or Xbox over it. They're still vastly more powerful. But being able to take games like Zelda, Skyrim, and Mario anywhere is absolutely great.

I have my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, and gaming PC with a 980 Ti in it. And my N64, SNES, PS1, PS2, Sega, and NES. I can't fit anymore consoles in my house.

Does the PS4 Pro feel like a real upgrade from the PS4? I'm still debating doing that.

I kept debating about getting an Xbox but since Microsoft said they're going to put all their exclusives on PC anyway I'm not entirely sure why that system even exist anymore.

That seems the way to go. Steam was selling their steamlink device, which allows you to stream you PC to your tv, for $5 over the weekend. I ordered one and am eager to try it out. Reviews say it's pretty good now as long as you have a good connection or better yet can do it wired.

I have a 50 inch TV in the office but my PC is on the other side of the room and I don't want to be running long HDMI cables around the room.

Haven't bought myself anything for Christmas yet. Sad!

Nintendo people, what are your thoughts on the WiiU/Switch? Always fancied giving either a spin but never committed to it

Switch is great. Can't really knock it except for the slow support from Netflix + Youtube, but apparently they're close. Nintendo is pretty picky about how well games+applications function.

No point in the WiiU. No new games and half the good ones have been ported up to switch.

I ripped on the Switch for its lack of support initially but it is quite the cool console, Zelda and Mario are great to the point that you honestly need to play it to understand. Im a fan for sure.

Secret of mana remake is going to have a limited physical release, only on ps4 and only at GameStop. :( guess I'm pre-ordering it. I was hoping they'd have a special collectors edition or something.

Got the VR rig set up. Selyar and I spent about 2 hours playing Space Pirate Trainer last night. The Vive is so incredibly immersive, it's very easy to suspend disbelief and actually feel like you're in the VR world. For those of you who haven't tried the Vive, you have got to. It's fucking awesome.

you could tell 7 years ago that EA was ruining all of their games. i stopped when i'd have 13 shots and i'd lose 1-0.

i stopped when they made the game so realistic that you couldn't even complete passes anymore. I loved when you were able to zip the puck around and create fun one-timers.. now, the only way to score is random ass shots and breakaways.

Yup, the slightest bump knocks the puck off your stick

Used to be able to actually pass the puck around on the powerplay. Now carrying the puck into the zone and getting a shot off feels like a small victory

EA’s best games were always NCAA Football. Tells you all you need to know that they just stopped making them

Could be. Just sucks because there’s nothing in sports gaming quite like turning a random, shitty program into a national powerhouse via recruiting.
