Yooka Laylee looks really good so far. Not seeing the camera angle issues that the reviewers were talking about. The levels are a lot bigger than Kazooie and Tooie. Hopefully they aren't too big and the game becomes a grind

Loving P5 so far. Gameplay is just super polished. Only downside is that I'm probably going to clear 90 hours by endgame. :why:

It's great.
It's not even May yet and 2017 might be the best year for games in a long time.

I haven't even got around to RE7 yet either.

Atlus is prohibiting people from streaming past 7/7 in Persona 5. One of the biggest streamers on Twitch is currently doing that. Will Twitch have the balls to boop him?

I assume the business plan will be to sell the games individually on the Switch marketplace for more money but this is a garbage move

That thing was garbage anyway. It's a nice novelty item to put on a shelf but it was not a good device for the price. Then again most shit Nintendo does with their old games library is hot garbage.

Not worth the price? It's the same price as a new XB1 game and I've probably gotten more enjoyment out of it than I would with many new games.

The Wind Waker HD record was just beaten... by 2 hours

Imagine sinking a thousand hours into that game trying to have the fastest run by maybe 10 seconds and then some fuckboi comes around a decade later and finds a glitch that completely destroys the game

For me it may be, its insanely well done.

Its almost a good thing Switches are limited, because I made the mistake of playing BOTW the other day and now I have to play that eventually. Maybe I'll get a Wii U for 4 dollars over the summer, it can't be much different than the Switch version.

The WiiU version is pretty much the same. I've had no complaints with it.

If you get a WiiU and like the persona games get Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. It's persona with some fire emblem characters. It's real good and made by the persona team.

I'm also digging persona 5. I don't know if I like it more than 4, but it's really superb still.

At the endgame - I eclipsed 90 hours this morning :donger:

I suspect I'm reallllly close to the ending judging by the events so I'll probably be finished tomorrow. Didn't think anything would top Yakuza 0 for me this year but I'm happy to be wrong.

I don't really understand why they're being discontinued. Stores can't keep them on the shelves even now. My only complaint is the controller cord length. I also wish they had Tetris and Contra but that's about it.

Does it come with 30 games?

I've beaten Super Mario 1 and 3, Kirby, and I'm working on Punchout now. Not sure what I'll move on to next. Maybe Zelda.

Can't get passed the Bald Bull on the World Circuit.

No, but you can buy Nintendo games for cheap if you know where to go. I don't pay more than 5-10 dollars a cartridge. That thing has 30 games, but you may not wanna play all of them. I don't know what games it comes with. But if it doesn't have Blades of Steel there's no point in it's existence.

Did the power supply fuck up? I've had mine for a year and use it constantly and it's working fine.

No the R5 doesn't come with preinstalled games but it plays NES, Famicom, Genesis, SNES and GBA carts flawlessly.

If you want you can mod an SD card for it to read roms as well.

I won't play all 30 but I'll probably play at least 15 of them before I'm done with the console. It also takes up next to no shelf space so it's a cool novelty item if I get bored one day. Maybe I'll get lucky and meet a girl at a bar who loves NES and it'll be an excuse to come hang

Most of the good games on it are more than $5, some are more than $10. The list of "essential" games on the classic are, imo:
Bubble Bobble - $10+
Contra - $15-20+
Super Mario Bros - $5
Mario 2 - $10
SMB3 - $5-10
Metroid - $15
Zelda - $15
Ninja Gaiden - $5-10
Punch Out - $10
Final Fantasy - $15
Zelda II - $15

Even if you get those games at 1/2 price, you'll still pay more than buying the classic at retail, and you won't need to deal with hunting for them for cheap, buying and dealing with ancient hardware, having shit upconverted graphics, old controllers, etc.

If you want a taste of NES, the classic is an absolute steal. And that's before you take into account that it can play tons of other excellent games from more advanced consoles.

Apparently, the main no power issue is in a chip that can't really be replaced because it has to be reprogrammed to work with the retron.
