It's crazy to think that I've seen less than half the episodes of The Simpsons at this point.

Random thoughts..I wake up earlier for golf than I do for work. Watching the sunrise is a really zen way to start your day.

I'd rather sleep and play in the evening.

I played nine for the first time last night, and stopped counting shots midway through the first hole.

3-6am is pure zen for me. I think it has to do with your body producing melatonin during that period.

Jeopardy does need one fix, you should be required to bet at least half your total in Final Jeopardy. Needs more drama in the final round

long post. sorry

as some of you might be aware, engineering has a licensing process that requires you to take two 8 hour exams, and work under another professional engineer before you can be licensed. in order to apply for your PE, you need to get references, and fill out a lengthy application documenting everything you've ever done since you started your career, and you have to get at least 5 people to serve as references to verify that work. However, once you do that in one state, you don't have to do the whole thing over again in other states to be licensed there. you can apply as a NJ PE with NY, and as long as you pay the fees, they will typically just grant the license without much fuss.

In order to streamline this process the NCEES, the national council for engineering examinations has an online portal where you can maintain your work history, and copies of reference letters verifying that experience for you. and they will send it off to any state you choose, so you don't have to fill out all the other state forms over and over again. Its kind of a pain to set it up once, but once you do, getting a license in another state should be pretty painless.

i recently filled out the online record with NCEES and requested verification from my old supervisors. Everyone did it, except for my immediately previous supervisor from my old company, so i waited a bit, knowing hes a busy guy, and eventually reached out to him and got no response. after several more months, i reached out again and copied his wife (who is also the office manager at the company he owns) and then he finally did the form online.

I just went online on friday and realized that he answered the questions saying that he cannot certify my experience, and which results in none of the work experience i got (3 years) at that company can count toward license applications. thankfully i have enough experience gained from other companies that I don't NEED his, but i'm pretty pissed because there's a big gap in my history now that could cause questions to come up during any license reviews with other states. I currently have an application pending with NY. I'm going to need to reach out to him, but I don't know what to say that isn't, "WTF, cocksucker?"

Do you still know peers there? Email all of them telling them how he treated you so they can look for work elsewhere. This isn’t burning a bridge, he already did that so make sure his life is miserable since he deserves it.

This is a good idea. I'd tell him that you're going to contact all of his employees and inform them about his behavior unless he corrects his statements.

I got a semi skeleton classic as a gift a few years ago. Definitely would approve. Besides normal small issues with watches, they are durable, comfortable and all that.

Don't take out a loan for a wedding. Go to town hall and get married. Throw a party with the money you saved.

Paid for it ourselves since our parents had no money. We got married in a court house for $65 or something like that. We hosted a party in my backyard (I had a house/mortgage before meeting my now wife) that cost around $2k going on memory a few weeks after our nuptials.

We were just too pragmatic to blow a lot of money on a party. Also know we were in our thirties too so maybe that made being pragmatic easier.
