Seems like the refs were extremely whistle happy, but being undisciplined is never a good thing. How did Morrow and Dumoulin look?

I wonder if the Pens are going to call up KV any time soon. I still think the racial comments were bullshit. If there was any truth to it besides maybe a misunderstanding, he'd be off the team. Pens got rid of CPZ because his broad wouldn't shut up on twitter, a racial slur would be worse and since the league had to react because it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't type of situation, he got suspended for it and what not.

He has 14pts in 20gms so far in the ECHL for the Nailers. Nailers suck though, but the Baby Pens need offense and KV is versatile. Use the fucking guy already.

I was on the fence about keeping KV around but I wouldn't mind him staying for another year, KV should work out with Neal, Letang or Crosby this off season. He needs to bulk up and get stronger.

Nebraska-Omaha is out, so Josh Archibald can now sign a contract and join WBS and fast track his career or stay another year in College. I think development wise, if he stayed another year in College, he could bulk up even more but if he joined WBS, he would get the minutes he needs in every facet of the game and get some pro experience under his belt. WBS needs offense badly, if he joins and Hanowski joins when his team is out, that's some awesome news for WBS and maybe for the forwards situation next year.

Archibald has been unreal for a prospect, the guy was a late pick that ended up being one of the better picks, also played for the US squad in the WJC a year or so ago.

Image

If Shero can add the following this year to WBS, that'd be epic.

Josh Archibald - RW
Ben Hanowski - LW/RW
Petr Straka - RW
Anton Zlobin - RW

I would then put priority on Laganiere for the College FA that could be available to sign. We desperately need a better center down in WBS. I'd deal one of Megna or Thompson to make room maybe. Antoine Laganiere is 6'4" and a left handed Center that some people say has parallels to Jordan Staal. Sign me up. Something about Megna and Thompson make me want to keep those two around, but their progression at the AHL level isn't promising, especially for Megna, his 1st year but damn...the kid supposedly has a ton of skill but no finish, which is pretty useless.

Matia Marcantuoni might be a bust as well, our NA Koltsov. Nice knowin' ya, unless he has a huge year next year as an over aged prospect, he'll go the way of Bathgate.

I'm not sure if the team has the contract # allowable for that.

I mean this year alone Shero has cleared out - Tangradi, Sneep, Strait, and Lovejoy. That's 4. But he signed Eaton but he's a 1yr contract at best. I'm not sure what our contract # situation is. I will browse Boreds to see.

I don't know what is wrong with Dominik Uher, he impressed so much at camp that one year and now the guy can barely put up points at even a 0.25ppg pace.

Pens signed Seymour from the OHL to a ATO. Three goals, ten assist, sixty-one PM.
I can hear it in the locker room, a 19 y/o, " I played with the Petes." riiight.

Kolarik/Holzapfel having a great year.
Surprise for me this year has been Trevor Smith. He is a scrappy guy as well.

Talent Analysis

Clark Seymour is a big, physical defenseman who prides himself in being hard to play against and tough in the corners. His game is very pro-ready in the sense that he already plays a very simple, stay-at-home style. He is ferociously physical in his own end, demonstrating a great willingness to throw his massive frame around, and is not afraid to drop the gloves to stick up for teammates. Many parts of his game are fairly sophisticated for a junior level player as he normally keeps his head up and is competent at head fakes, and making reads. Still, he will never be regarded as an offensive, or even two-way defenseman.

In terms of bringing his game to the next level, Seymour needs to play more consistent, and play with a greater deal of confidence. Though he is relatively mobile given his massive frame, he could still stand up improve his footspeed.

It's what we thought Robert Bortuzzo was but really isn't. IF he can be that tough as nails sob that clears the crease and fucks people up, great. Him and Ruopp will be the future bash brothers for the Pens.

Peterborough Petes aren't that bad, they've churned out some legends - Like that half decent kid Wayne Gretzky and that mediocre center Steve Yzerman and that halfwit defenseman Larry Murphy to name a few ;)

All 3 are good at keeping a buffer zone for the prospects that need to be given increased minutes based on play, but given that the prospects we do have on forward there aren't really performing, it's kind of sad that those 3 are leading the way for points and what not with Thompson and Gibbons doing alright.

And by massive frame, they mean massive.

He's 6'4" 202lbs. He's bigger than Bortuzzo and he's 5yrs younger. That's a big ass kid.

Also, Beau is an weird but funny kid on Twitter.

Would it hurt WBS to play Zlobin? Seriously, that team blows for scoring goals. 1-0 Binghampton right now, Pens are up 2-0 in the series.

I think the delay was that he was injured and the team didn't need to rush it anyway. The WBS Squad next year is stacked to the point where it's not even fair to have that many solid defensemen in the AHL.

D'Agostino, Harrington, Ruopp, Dumoulin, Samuelsson...seriously, good luck Hynes.

If the Pens let Thiessen walk, not sure if it would be a mistake now. The way he's stepped up when Zatkoff has struggled in the playoffs, is the guy we thought we were getting. Not sure who you keep now between the two, the guy that does great in the regular season and then turns to crap in the playoffs or the guy that's mediocre in the season and then turns his game up in the playoffs.

Hartzell is going to be one of the guys there, not sure who the other will be.
