So no Malkin & Letang against the Flyers, this might be a tougher game than I thought.

So apparently the Pens & Stars have a deal in place for Brendan Morrow, just have to wait until he waives his NTC.

If that's true, I am 100% ok with him being the only forward move Shero makes this season.

Kunitz, Crosby, Dupuis
Morrow, Malkin, Neal
Cooke, Sutter, Bennett

That's a more balanced top 9.

I am desperately hoping Dreger is being an epic fucktard and he's wrong here. Joe Morrow for Brendan Morrow would be the worst trade Shero has made in his career, this could end up being his Naslund for Stojanov.

Leopold was good until Sutton murdered him. Poni, are you kidding me? Shero gave up Caputi (shit prospect) and Skoula for him. Those are minimal damage for Pens future when you think about it.

Losing Joe Morrow for a 34yr old that has struggled the past year and a half, that's a really bad Shero trade.

Also Brenden Morrow waived his NTC for Pittsburgh.

So as of right now, we have Brenden Morrow, but not sure for what.

It better include a prospect or a high pick with fuckin' Morrow. Or else, Ceo of getting shit done is now CEO of fucking retarded asset management.

Also, Hynes might be gone after this season if BU comes calling. Parker retired, so that means they are looking for a new coach and Hynes is an alumni. Kind of curious who would take over, maybe Alain Nasreddine?

Well, fuck you Ray Shero. Fuck you.

Pitt gets B. Morrow and a 3rd-round pick 2013 in exchange Dallas gets prospects Joe Morrow and a 5th-round pick 2013

Apparently Joe Morrow hasn't been informed yet of his trade, that's pretty classless. I am not a fan of this fucking trade at all. Holy fuck this is disappointing. Over paying for fucking experience and grit? Joe Morrow had the potential to be a top 4 defenseman. Morrow comes in as a struggling winger the past 2yrs and he's a motherfucking rental.

A MOTHERFUCKING RENTAL?

DID WE JUST FUCKING TRADE OUR GM FOR RETARD HOLMGREN/HOWSON? WHAT IN THE FUCK OF FUCKS?

I don't give a fuck about today's game.

This trade is fucking horrible. I hate it. Of all the defensive prospects, Morrow was the one whom I did NOT want to part with, unless he was packaged for someone elite, not a 34 year old washed up power forward who's played like a 4th liner for the past year and a half. Christ. Fuck Shero. Unless we raise the cup then he's lost my approval.

I'm not even angry right now, I'm just disappointed. Maybe it's our fault for building up Ray Shero as a guy that just fleeces people in trades and with his record, he's given us ample proof to feel that way, until today.

The Penguins gave up a Conditional pick that maxed out at a 3rd rounder for Bill Guerin, who was far more productive than Brenden Morrow has been the last 1.5yrs. This isn't a trade that puts the Penguins over the top either, you lose Malkin again, you have what, a decent 3rd line winger from this trade for depth? He doesn't sign any decent College FA's, makes this shit deal, loses Strait for nothing...

What a fucking retarded year for him.

I really really want to be proven wrong here and see Morrow go ppg with the Pens. His ass better be flying to Pittsburgh for practice tomorrow and be in the line-up for the Habs game with Malkin hopefully back.

I expect the line-up to be this.

Kunitz, Crosby, Dupuis
Morrow, Malkin, Neal
Bennett, Sutter, Cooke
Glass/Adams, Vitale, Kennedy

If Morrow finds his shit again for the rest of the year/playoffs ala Billy G, i'll love the shit out of this if not we stil have Pouliot, Olli,Harrington, Domoulin and Despres to make up for a botch.

Yeah, the depth is good, but Joe Morrow is a guy you move, in a package deal, for someone like Chris Stewart or something. Not a 34yr old that is likely spending a cup of coffee in Pittsburgh before he likely heads back to Dallas in the off season.

I would like to see Morrow re-sign for at least 1 more year like Guerin, maybe after 5-10 games, Shero can do that at a lesser cap hit like 3-3.5m. Only if he works out. He's not as physical as he once was, his hits # definitely indicates that.

On another note, that 3rd rounder we get from Dallas, is Edmonton's 3rd.

So let's keep hoping Edmonton plays like shit because realistically, we could get a very late 2nd in that deal. Shero better not play it safe and draft some fucking defenseman or some kid going the college route, again. Holy fuck am I tired of that.

So the deal essentially plays out like this.

Brenden Morrow + 3rd (Edmonton's) for Morrow and a 5th (likely a very late 5th).

One thing I really like Morrow will not let this team get jobbed and pushed around in the playoffs like what happened last year yeah he isn't the same player he was a couple years ago but he's still a whole lot of nasty and still built like a tank.

Having 2 picks from the 58th-65th spot isn't a bad thing at all. It could also allow Shero to move both the picks for something else at the draft.

You know I like Brenden Morrow, I've stated it so many damn times. But the price the Pens paid for him was pretty damn high.

But now I am hearing the Pens and J. Morrow weren't on the same page most of the time about his development. I think that also played a big part in him being the guy going the other way. If that's the case, then I see why Shero did this, moving a prospect that argued about his development is a good thing in the long run.

It sucks because Joe was very very close to making the team out of camp last year.

All in all, the last 3 trades, we still win decidedly over the Stars overall.

To Dallas: 5th (2013), Alex Goligoski, Joe Morrow, and Carl Sneep.
To Pittsburgh: 7th (2013), 3rd (Oilers' 2013), Matt Niskanen, James Neal

No chance, unless you mean this summer.

This trade effectively prices Iginla out. I don't want to say there is no way, but there is no way Shero moves the 1st, likely Pouliot/Maatta and Bennett for Jerome Iginla.

That would mean in 1 season he moved Morrow, the 1st, another defense prospect and our best forward prospect for 2 rentals. That's the type of shit that gets you fired and called the next John Ferguson Jr.

Not mad about the trade anymore. I wanted Morrow on this team, they got him, for a guy that we held way too high for value and we later find out the management was at odds with him about his development.

He was 5th on the depth chart at this point anyway (Pouliot, Maatta, Harrington and Dumoulin were ahead of him according to the way Pens brass talked about the D).

Tanner Glass is never going to score with the Penguins it seems. Holy shit is this guy invisible offensively, when Craig Adams has 3 goals and you have 0, you need to re-evaluate your life. Lol...

I like Morrow too, and thought he'd be a great addition. But I expected him to fetch a 2nd plus an average prospect, not a top prospect and our only consolation that we get a slight upgrade in draft picks (although realistically neither of those draft picks will result in NHL players). I'm still pissed about this. I knew we'd move a defender, since we have 6 highly touted ones.. enough to make an entire blueline with. That's more than enough. But the price here was just much too high.

After the trade, you hear stuff, like how he wasn't doing what the scouts/management wanted him to do for his development. Maybe they just figured you know what, we have the depth, we can move him and be ok, etc. It's a big price to pay, yeah but we also got the Oilers 3rd, which will be a late 2nd.

We gotta see after this season how Morrow worked out. You never know, Morrow could either be a top 4 or the next guy Shero trades knowing more than we did about his lack of potential or otherwise, you know?
