So are we excited? Got Leafs best prospect for a 4th, that cunting Bourke up to his old tricks!

Stupped, nobody will take Liles off waivers. Leafs will have to pay somebody to take Liles away.

Good to know that the best way for Burke to show he isn't the GM is to have the GM trade for one of the last players he acquired as GM.

Not sure how I feel about trading a 4th for a player I wouldn't have jumped to take off waivers, but I suppose there is worse deals that this team could have made. This does mean that Monahan will be sent down, not a terrible thing to happen IMO. Give Colborne a chance, even with Backlund and Stajan taking up two centre spots there is still a means to play with at least some level of NHL talent (Hudler on one line, Cammalleri on another line, Stempniak and Glencross on another) so he'd be getting a chance that Toronto just couldn't afford to give him (as good a chance as he should ever expect to have).

If the trade lights a fire, he recovered from his injury (or whatever excuse was given for mere adequate AHL play for the past couple seasons) and all the other typical things people say about such a deal, then things will look good here. If he is indeed just a guy who can't hack it in the NHL, then things aren't any less good here I guess.

Just get the season started and over with already.

Build him a toolbox and he could a solid NHL'er.

Couldn't we just buy him one from Rona or something?

Colborne seems like a player who just looks like he's on the cusp of greatness, only you know he just wont get over that hump no matter how hard he (sort of) tries.

Frustrating to watch, exactly what should have been expected I guess. But it didn't mean Monahan was sent down, which is nice.

Typical Eastern bias in the MVP voting I see.

I'm certainly intrigued by him. His career has certainly trended the right way since being drafted and an AHL rookie getting a lot of playing time and points in a Troy Ward system is certainly something to get excited about.

Hopefully he gets a chance or two on the PP to use his shot because by all accounts he's not much of a playmaker and if he's playing on this team's third or fourth line he'll never get set up to do it on even strength. Hopefully he's got enough of an edge to keep Burke happy to make this a proper call up to see how he can do and actually get a chance to earn some quality minutes otherwise you might as well just keep calling up Street and Jones to tag along with McGrattan and Westgarth.

The last Finn the team had that wasn't a goalie who didn't frustrate the living hell out of me was Ville Nieminen, so Markus just needs to be less useless than Niklas Hagman and I will be content. The bar is low, time to see what that sisu can do.
