The fallacy in the Cosby situation is that you have celebrity status that alone is a safeguard against harm. People are inclined to think highly of famous people, even if they do shitty things, so determining how much of public dismissal is related to fame is untenable. That's my main issue with that thread.

Yes, you would think after a certain amount of allegations that the public would wake up, but there is a lot of things that you would think would happen that don't.

I 100% believe that the majority of females are treated terribly online, but I don't use the Cosby situation as a basis of that -- it may or may not be relevant, likely so (at least partially), but still explainable otherwise and hence should be weighted lowly.

Computer anonymity enables persons to behave as they wouldn't ordinarily; we all know that and it's why parts of Europe have such harsh legal ramifications for online statements. As a consequence racism, sexism, etc., are rampant.

I wouldn't dismiss the other extreme though, both sexes have gender issues. It just so happens that women tend of have the really, really shitty ones more frequently than men (imo).

I wasn't suggesting it's exactly the same, but some years ago I wrote code also. Learning a new language had its challenges, but once you know how to do it, you can do it. No?

If you're up for a real challenge, you could try and decipher what the fuck Ryan O'Reilly's father is talking about on his Twitter posts.

Mobile is different than desktop, but yeah, programming isn't anything special. It's simple logic once you get past the syntax, but uhh, syntax is kind of a lot for non-desktop applications depending on what you're doing.

O'Reilly's father is a psycho and the whole situation with the player is a disgrace. Nothing embarrasses me more about this organization. He's a goner...I hope we get a decent return.

Meh, if you can keep it in check, I really have no problem with a few drugs. I'm retired on that front, but enjoyed it when I was active.

Yeah, I can see how the two of them together could be attractive. I've found that trying to understand ovarian logic without a buzz can be quite challenging.

Key and Peele, Silicon Valley, Tim & Eric, Eric Andre, Archer are another story.

I have never considered this show a 'must see'. However, it's the only one I watch today (on VOD).

I disagree about this season being bad; I liked some of the continuity and topical natures -- the bits like Randy's singing voice & lyrics, Wacky Races, last episode being centered around basically 1 single gag, etc. aren't particularly spectacular and mostly horrible, but at the same it isn't a chore to watch nor is barely passable.

Watching sports has been a chore so I've basically stopped minus the NFL. Hell, Colbert and Daily Show were becoming awful headaches whenever I'd randomly return to them.

In general, I find TV utterly boring and complete drivel. But at the same time it's based on me comparatively watching absolutely nothing, and that includes not viewing Archer, etc. I liked some of Key and Peele's sketches, but I don't think I could tolerate that type of show on a regular schedule. For whatever reason, that's not the case with South Park (currently) so I'm pleased.

The problem with south Park anymore is that their episodes generally have no direction. They try and cram a whole bunch of plotlines and references in every episode, and it usually comes out as a huge fucking mess. I know people hated kyle's "what I learned today" speeches, but they at least gave episodes a direction to move towards. I have suspected for a while that the creators have generally moved past the show and want to move on, although this may be offset by the fact they keep renewing.

They have some coherence. If they try too hard with continuity then you get total crap like the the hero/villain arc. It's better that they try not to take themselves too seriously.

I'm sure they're pretty bored with the series to an extent, but it has a significant viewership. They've been able to do side projects like the video game and Book of Mormon, so they're not completely stuck unlike Groening (once Futurama died circa early 2000's).

I'm not sure where I fall on the substance abuse claim.

He was pretty open about the fact he abused Ambien, and I'm pretty sure he did a lot of drunk tweeting over the years.

That said, he is a huge fucking liar who has never really taken responsibility for any of his bullshit or problems over the years. I could definitely see him totally faking a substance abuse problem in order to gain sympathy with others. His solid non-apology in his goodbye post is indicative of the usual Dater bullshit level.

Regardless, he was a talentless hack as a writer, journalist, and reporter. Good riddance.

Hmm. You're going to have to find a bar that has the hockey package, I'm thinking. I know your hood quite well - there a a few dive-ish bars right nearby that might be worth a shot - The Draft might be one to try. They have well over a dozen TVs, I go check out Avs and Broncons games there sometimes. And I know that they're happy to put one whatever game you want to watch on the TV in front of you - just don't know if they have the hockey package. An inordinate number of the young chicks serving drinks there seem to be pregnant though. Not sure what to make of that. I'd stay away from The Mirage sports bar farther south on Wadsworth. Even the fat chicks avoid that place.

Wondering why you're thinking of driving all the way to Fort Collins to grab a game. Fort Collins is a fun town, but that's a pretty long way.

if you do make it up to FoCo, do one of the brewery taphouses instead of a sports bar. My favorite is Coopersmiths.
