Offensively, the Wild have been gaining steam with the ascent of Haula and acquisition of Moulson. If Granlund comes back and is healthy, and the Wild play their game, I'd say we've got a Wild victory.

WHERE IS YOUR BLIND FAITH?!

But seriously, we had a good record against them this season, but almost every one of the games was closely contested, so I'm not sure what to say. I like this match up much better than Chicago, who frankly scared the shit out of me and saw 0 way of winning, but this certainly isn't a cake walk. I think the Avs take it in 6 or 7. Too many ifs for Minny, if Granlund or Harding are going to be back, and if so are they going to pick up right where they left off? With Harding you never know how he's going to react coming back from his issues with meds and Granlund wouldn't be the only person to come back from multiple head injuries and take some time to get back up to speed.

BOS 4 DET 0
PIT 4 CBJ 2
NYR 2 PHI 4
TBL 4 MTL 3

ANA 4 DAL 1
COL 4 MIN 2
STL 4 CHI 3
SJS 4 LAK 3

this has the potential to be the best playoffs in a long damn time, IMO

Blues are not advancing. Sorry.

Sharks/Kings could be the best series in the first round.

I like the matchup for our forwards against their defense but obviously our defense will be in tough. Varly should have no problem beating out Bryz.

I should probably take Friday off work. Going to get rowdy at the game Thursday.

Honestly, if they lost in the playoffs, I wouldn't be mad. It's still been a great season and a great step forward, more than I ever expected.

Agree with most of that.

I think the Avs - even without Duchene - can outscore Minn both at the forward and defense positions. Especially if Minn gives Colorado power plays. Colorado has a very good power play and Minn doesn't kill them well. Colorado also has the edge in goal for sure.

However, Minn's defensemen are much better defensively.

So, for Minn to win, they need to stay out of the box and play a bunch of 2-1 games. Otherwise, Colorado takes it.

Colorado in 6.

It has been an OK first period overall. Pretty unhappy about the goal we gave up -- although we'd been quick to dump the puck out of our zone, we hadn't really forced passes dangerously within our zone. More composure would have prevented that forced transition, and we'd have a 1-0 lead; instead, the Wild were able to tie it up.

Varlamov hasn't been lights out but he hasn't been bad either. A little rusty.

We haven't played in a while but overall the period was pretty good. I'd say the edge to us, but only slightly...fairly even overall.

Barrie has a ton of composure. <3

That rush by Barrie at the beginning of the period was fucking fantastic. Varlamov has looked a little unsure, but has mostly done what he's needed to do, so whatever.

Boy does that goal look familiar. I feel like if you give ROR a good look at the top of the circle he can just crush that thing into the back of the net.

He's good on the point. Too bad Sacco hardly utilized him there when we had a dearth of offense in our blue line.

Varlamov not stopping 45 pucks tonight, so we're fucked. The sky is falling. World is ending. Something is something.

What are you talking about? We need a couple big goals, so leave Barrie out for the whole 20.

Parenteau too.

OK: Landeskog, MacKinnon, O'Reilly, Stastny, Barrie, EJ, Hejda, Talbot, McGinn

If we could only add more defensemen to the "not shit" list! Then we'd be going places.

I know we're down Duchene and Mitchell, but we need somebody in the pipe who can fit in the #3C spot better than Cliche in situations like this. It basically hamstrings the third line offensively.

Any time Hejda or EJ takes a penalty also becomes an issue because of our D on the PK. Just minor depth issues, if addressed correctly can turn this team into a a powerhouse for a long time. Not there yet though.

'Twas a good book. Would have been better if I hadn't had to read it in fucking Spanish, which was confusing as hell until you realized the same name was being used for different generations (Sr, Jr, Sr Sr).
