I'm surprised he got three years. I guess Harding retires, Kuemper is traded, and Gustafsson is ready to take the starting job by the time the deal is up

Really too bad. He's a phenomenal person and probably one of the most likeable guys in the league but doesn't get much attention because of the team/market and because he's not a starter/star.


I've always really, really liked him. I could be misremembering, but I recall(perhaps the same year as the Varly trade) that he was set to be a UFA but the Wild locked him up. Really wanted the Avs to grab him on the open market.
