At least it's not a center. Vigneault said Tanev was day to day, so probably not a long term thing.

Chris Higgins' brother is a poster on the Flames section of HFBoards apparently (lol), and broke the contract extension with exact details a week before it was announced.

Anyway, he just said Higgins will be on the shelf for two weeks and hopefully no longer. So he should be playing again before playoffs.

Pretty sure he posts on the Canucks section too but his username is Flames related cause he made the account when Higgins played for them

Best part about it was they took on Kotalik's rediculous cap hit, lost a bottom-6 banger in Prust, Sutter then said he never should have traded Jokinen destroying his chance to re-sign Higgins, and signed Jokinen who was the definition of average.

They re-signed Jokinen for $3m though which made it not so bad.

The numbers and cap hit weren't bad. It was everything surrounding Jokinen that was terrible.

No argument there. Basically indicated just how unstable Sutter was. Weird that he's a good coach but a terrible GM.

The Canucks have intentionally overstated how long it would take for a player to recover in order to tamp down speculation in the press. Hopefully that's the case here.

CALGARY — Winger Chris Higgins' knee injury is not as serious as first feared and the Vancouver Canucks could have him back before the end of the regular season.

Coach Alain Vigneault said a scan indicated Higgins has a "mild strain."

"So we are looking at a couple of weeks," Vigneault said Thursday before the team left Calgary for Denver.

Vigneault said if Higgins' rehab goes well he could be back before the end of the regular season. The Canucks finish the regular season on April 27 with a game in Edmonton.

Vigneault said defenceman Chris Tanev remains out "indefinitely" with what is believed to be a foot injury. But general manager Mike Gillis sounded more optimistic about Tanev's return.

"We think he'll be back fairly soon as well," Gillis said.
