Yes they can. Yes they will. If MacTavish knew anything about his job, he'd be trying to trade Hall, Eberle, Yakupov, or Nugent-Hopkins for a young defensive stud.

If McDavid knew anything about Edmonton he'd pull a fuckin Lindros

Hopefully McDavid pulls a Lindros.

But anyway, I bet he'll be gone by year 15 of the rebuild.

The lindros trade worked pretty well for Quebec.

Well not literally for Quebec but you know what I mean.

I was pretty positive that not holding the lottery in public meant they were rigging it so the Oilers could not win. God dammit.

How many more children must we sacrifice to that awful team? How many generational talents will they ruin!!!

There's a video on tsn where Bob talks about mcdavid getting drafted by Erie and it was a similar thing but he ended up loving it so much, etc. In other words there's little chance that happens. He was probably sad that it wasn't Toronto or Buffalo which is closer to home, but he's not gonna lindros.

It's worth noting that lindros refused to play for the CHL team that drafted him too. So that does anecdotally seem like an indicator.

It's actually so weird to me that they have such a convoluted system. Like why not just put a bunch of balls in where each ball represents a team and the ratios are correct and just grab one of them.

Thank fucking God the Leafs didn't win. Can you imagine how bad things would have been if the company that owns both the Leafs and all of Canada's NHL broadcasting rights were given the best prospect since John Tavares?

Yeah, there were almost no good choices.

Buffalo was so blatantly tanking that I'm glad they didn't win.
Toronto and Edmonton, enough said.

Arizona/Carolina I'd be alright with....except then all the conspiracy retards would wail that it was "fixed."

So...New Jersey? or Columbus I guess?

In the shocker of shocks, NHL is going to formally announce an expansion process.

Though feel free to question this guy's credibility:
It will be the first time it’s happened under Bettman’s watch.

Everyone but TML fans saw this coming. They were delusional with their expectations on his return in a trade.

McNally signed with the Sharks. I was assured by the boards that this was a good trade because McNally would never turn pro.

I thought the Benning quotes were that Benning didn't view him as an NHL player rather than anything from McNally's end.

Kesler's new deal is huge. Six years, $41.25 million. ($6.875M AAV).

Seems a bit excessive.

Huge contract at his age and with his potential to break down.

@JasonPHT

The Canucks didn't think the Ducks would have the resources to re-sign Kesler. Were thus convinced they'd have to accept less in a trade.
