If only we weren't so blindsided by this... if only the entire fanbase was able to see it in advance. Oh wait, we were.

I'm actually going to tonight's game here in Ottawa and I don't even know how I feel about it.

4 shutouts in 5 games. We also were shutout 4 times in 5 games at the end of last season. This has reached epic levels of pathetic.

I am going to note that this one was a bit of a bottle episode that I'd actually had ready to go for a while, but I already have the better part of two more queued up and I am quite excited to post them. I think you will enjoy Benning's face, in the way it is presented, next week.

The guy known as the most prolific prankster in the NHL and nicknamed "Chuckles" traded PK Subban because his severely underwhelming curmudgeon coach didn't like him.

It shocked me too when I found out Virtanen actually did play tonight. If Gudbranson is dumb enough to go after Martin that's a trade off any Leaf fan would be more then happy with.

Wouldn't bother me too much either. Gudbranson was trash tonight. His puck skills are non-existent and he was non-factor in all the extracurricular activities. I really don't like him as a hockey player even though he's a bit of a fan fave in the Willie Mitchell mold.

Really didn't expect things to be this much of a trainwreck so soon.

I mean they have scored first once in 12 games, which is also the only time they've had a lead. They have one regulation win. They've been shut out 4 times already. Eriksson and Sutter have combined for one goal, and that came in that joke of 3v3 overtime.

In 29th place and the last place Coyotes are a point back with a game in hand. Dead last in goals/game by a ridiculous margin. Dead last in PP.

And we've been getting pretty spectacular goaltending to prop up our stats.

Just incredible.

I'd love this except Benning just trades away all picks and good prospects and then makes retarded selections with what's left over, so there's no way to even enjoy an accidental rebuild.

Arm is tucked. Thats not what an elbow is. With a tucked arm running over someone who is bent over..even if any part of your tucked arm makes contact..not an elbow. Sticking out elbow...thats an elbow

regardless of all the cringeworthy zapruder'esque overanalyzing going, kadri is known for throwing illegal hits and he threw a 'questionable' one (at best) towards one the most important players in the history of our awful organization. there was an ensuing line brawl and threats were made after the game.

why not just defuse the situation by giving him a nominal suspension?

I felt Kadris hit was borderline for sure. If Dorsett hadn't of bitched out against Martin and fought a non-fighter in Komarov I think the rest of the nonsense wouldn't of happened.

I somehow in agreement with everyone. I don't even understand what is an elbow anymore. Arm tucked in but still principle point of contact was the elbow.

My bigger issue is just the NHL ignoring it. Inconsistent that only plays lip service and is completely afraid. Either take those kind of hits out or just let everything be legal.

Kadri does seem to have a history of being a shithead, though.

I REALLY hope that this continues long enough for everyone to be fired mid-season. Desperately do not with this group to fuck up the team by trading any more assets away for nothing.

we have been marketed a team that stands up for themselves

dec 3rd is where they prove it. if not, its further proof that benning and linden have no idea what theyre talking about. the sedins are continually getting clobbered and nobody is doing anything retaliatory about it. hurt someone. show the dops that a non-suspension adds fuel to the fire.
