Kind of funny to see that last year, Admirals win the league and Crunch finish just inside the playoffs, and this year, Admirals just miss playoffs and Crunch in AHL Finals. Goddamn, Tampa's got a very good minor league system.

Sean, you are correct about Tampa's farm system. They are loaded. You will find a link to a site called boltprospects.com. It shows how this year's Crunch team was put together.

The Bolts have developed players who are going to step up and play for them next season. They also do a good job finding diamonds in the rough in undrafted junior and college free agents. They used one of those types of players Cory Conacher as one of the main pieces in the Ben Bishop trade.

The point I am trying to make is don't ignore your farm system. The Ducks have almost 17 mil per year tied up in 2 players. There will be a need for good young players who can contribute for a reasonable cost. I see the makings of this in the Duck's system now. Etem, Rackell, Vatanen, Gibson are from the draft. Keep an eye on Sarault, Laganiere and Whitney who have been signed as free agents. Find some good veterans to play with them in Norfolk who can be mentors and teach them what they have to do to make it at this level.
