In here I will post things that make me irate.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatche ... -1.4213395

In March, Richardson was called to see a different oncologist, who advised Richardson to consider radiation.

Richardson said he told the oncologist the plan was to stick with traditional medicines. Richardson's request that the specialist still monitor the spread of the disease was turned down.

"He told me that that wasn't possible because there were many people who wanted their service and that was the ones that they would focus on," he said.

"I was actually offended."

Why should an oncologist make time to monitor a man consuming a diet of birch bark? I will not be considering any counterpoints at this time.

sorry herr_dong, but i can't accept your premise that a patient must follow a doctor's recommendations for the doctor to be responsible for caring for a patient.

the way i see it, the roles of people in the medical system are as follows:
doctors: (i) provide expertise in reviewing a patient's medical condition; (ii) make recommendations of care to the patient; (iii) design a plan of care according to the patient's needs and wishes; and (iv) oversee the implementation of the plan to ensure it is followed properly.
patients: (i) listen to the doctor's expertise and ask questions about the patient's medical condition; (ii) make decisions regarding doctor's recommendations of care for the patient; (iii) review the plan of care with the doctor to ensure they are in agreement; and (iv) follow the agreed upon plan of care to ensure that the patient has the best chance of having the plan work.
nurses: (i) provide support to doctor to aid them in using their expertise regarding a patient's medical condition; (ii - iv) implement the plan of care agreed upon by the doctor and patient to provide the patient with the best care possible.

whether the patient decides to take chemo, radiation or tree bark for his cancer, the doctor's role is still to provide the patient with the best care alternatives and update the patient on their medical status. there just becomes a shift from active care to more palliative type care in these circumstances.

Having rejected item (three) the doctor has no obligation to further work with this patient. He already has dozens of patients who have accepted treatment within the framework that has existed throughout his career, backed by decades of research. They are his priority.

Let it be known that while I put together a short reply, at no point did I consider this counterpoint. :colbert:

We do the laundry. She folds it.

3-4 loads on Wednesday and Thursday nights. And then put in large baskets for her to fold on Friday morning. She does bedsheets and stuff on Friday morning.

I must admit that sometimes we have to dip into the unfolded baskets to satisfy the kids' need to have a particular t-shirt or something. But generally it works.

She is a teacher. So, not really, except for the two months in the summer, of which she spends one month calming down from all the stress of the school year and the other building up stress as school gets near.

Mrs. Plan is similar, but we don't have a cleaner. We just invite people over regularly, which forces us to clean.

Adrienne Arsenault, Rosemary Barton, Andrew Chang, Ian Hanomansing to host The National

These retards are trying to rehash a failed suppertime news experiment from twenty years ago. At least I assume that's what they're doing. Reading more than several short paragraphs of CBC content is not possible.

Four CBC journalists will share anchor duties as the network revamps The National to offer an expanded digital focus along with more insight and analysis on the day's news, the public broadcaster announced today.

Senior correspondent Adrienne Arsenault, Power & Politics host Rosemary Barton, Vancouver local news host Andrew Chang and News Network anchor Ian Hanomansing were named hosts for the program that will debut in November.

Arsenault and Hanomansing will host from Toronto, Barton will be in Ottawa and Chang will continue to be based in Vancouver.

With multiple hosts, the four will all still be able to take turns reporting in the field. Barton, Hanomansing and Chang will stop hosting their shows sometime in the coming months.

Or we could just have Wendy Mesley read us the news for thirty minutes followed by a half hour of magazine pieces.
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

It's an AP piece, so I can't pin it exclusively on the news division of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, but:

Smoke seen pouring from Russian consulate in San Francisco
...

An Associated Press reporter heard people who came from inside the building tell firefighters that there was no problem and that consulate staff were burning unidentified items in a fireplace.

Mindy Talamadge, a spokesperson from the San Francisco Fire Department, said the department received a call about the smoke and sent a crew to investigate but determined the smoke was coming from the chimney.

"They had a fire going in their fireplace," she said.

Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.
