My coworker is taking a 2 week vacation with his ultimate destination being some shithole in Kansas or Missouri claiming to have the longest stretch of eclipse viewing in the US.

I'll check it out on YouTube or never..whichever comes first

Meh, I can create an eclipse with a tennis ball. Not sure why the moon is such a big deal...I'll look out my window to see the 70%+ partial eclipse.

The Lounge has become the weather board lately. Not sure how I feel about it.

Good to see the usual group of weather enthusiasts in here nonetheless.

We live in the shadows and we
Had the chance and threw it away
And it's never gonna be the same
Cuz the years are falling by like the rain
It's never gonna be the same
Till the life I knew comes to my house and says
Hello
Also, let's keep this thread about Galchenyuk's on-ice performance, development and value and NOT bring in his personal life or race.

So is it staring at the sun that makes you go blind or is it more dangerous during an eclipse? Also how long is it okay to stare at it with just sunglasses?

Q1: Staring at the sun is damaging to your eyes, period. Nor more so during an eclipse.

Q2: 0 seconds.

Boozy describing the breathtaking alignment of celestial astral bodies as "weather".

Typical.

I'm quite into astronomy, but much more on a theoretical understanding basis, not so much looking at random coïncidences. I'm with the tennis ball/weather side of this great debate.

Funny you said that there was right before the eclipse started and ended these things called shadow bands on the ground. Scientist don't know what causes them but it's essentially grey zig zags in a slithering snake motion.
