Here's a great simple look at Tesla at all time highs, finally breaking through $390 that it ran at three different times over three years.

It should run from here if you can stomach Elon.

Where's Artie? Haven't heard from him in a while. Probably sunning himself on an island somewhere.

Someone is scooping up FOOD. The volume has been up the last two weeks. I think it's buying volume, although I will say this company scares me a bit. Earnings in early Jan, and someone has had some pretty good buy blocks the last few days so I'm hoping it's like the old saying goes. Someone always knows something.

I hope you guys all kept your Goodfood subscriptions this quarter lol.

I looked back on year end quarters for Goodfood and flagged them on the chart. They haven't been around a long time, but that final quarter and year end has been their best each year. Hoping this one is the same. The price has certainly set up well for good news. The last 5 months has been the most stable the price has been over this 2.5 year chart. Could run to $4 on some good news/numbers. Will tank on bad news. Sounds fun.

700,000 shares went at 12:10pm for $3.09.

Must be an insider buy/sell? Price didn't move much so could be a stock options buy/sell I'm guessing? This thing averages about 25,000 shares a day moving so it's a huge transaction. Not sure.

Merry Christmas you filthy animals.

Shopify flirting with all-time highs. It's been a great run and I think it will break through. It's back to where it was in late August. What a drop and what a run back up. I'm guessing it goes higher on this run. It bumped back down. The old high was $409.61 US. We'll watch it tomorrow. Here's the chart with a classic cup showing.

Image

It could be similar to Tesla. Here's the old chart I posted on the 19th. It cupped back up to test all-time highs and look at that, completely straight up once it broke through. $383 to $430 in a week. I think Shopify could do the same.

Image

Amazon broke out today. I was so close to buying some $1900 options a couple days ago but they're so expensive because of share price with 1 contract about $1400 canadian and I didn't have enough lose cash in my account. They were up 240% today. Ruined my day lol. It should take a run at $2000 again I would think. I'll sit out. I have to see what FOOD does with the Jan 8th earnings. I've been watching this triangular wedge set-ups the last while. I was skeptical at first but I've seen a few work out.

Image

The late year and new year is usually a good market run. Things are moving. I've been watching some US stuff lately. Bought some $80 Feb 21 options on ARWR. It's at $67 now. We'll see...

Happy holidays.

I dumped RCH today and got into Lightspeed, the canadian e-commerce software maker that sells their platform to restaurants and other businesses. I haven't read enough about them and jumped in a bot earlier than I would have liked, but I did like what was happening. This IPO'd in March at $20, and hit just about $50 in August. It's now $36.88.

No one knows what's going to happen with stock prices, but there are base points, sell points and entry points where a stock looks comfortable or weak. I've noticed that with Lightspeed, $36 is a point of support and resistance. After falling through $36 in early Sept, it pushed through $36 late December on a huge volume day which I like to see. I marked it on the chart. There was also a good volume and boost in price a month earlier in late Nov.

Anyway, no one knows for sure but right now I'm comfortable here after I saw it close over $36 on the past day and hold with a small gain today. So I'm in - for now. We will watch. Here's the 6 month price history.

Good Food reports tomorrow before the open. You guys better get your dinner orders in today. I need your numbers.

The chart has shown a nice slow rise in price for the last couple of weeks. Nice and easy since the 50 day crossed the 200. It looks great but I think we'll have a violent move tomorrow. Hoping it's up not down.

Lightspeed at $40 this afternoon. That was quick. Up 8% today. I need to lock in profits, but I think we might get a couple good days out of this before I look to sell and buy back in later.

Pretty calm morning for FOOD, Artie. Looks like it didn't disappoint but didn't blow anyone away either.

Headline looked meh on earnings report, but when I read it they did put some decent numbers up over last years Q1. I have Level 2 quoting now which is nice to see the buys and sells lined up. There's been a big sell block at $3.25 that's been there for a few days. It will take some buying to chew through $3.25

I sold all my Good Food this morning at $3.12. Held for a while for a measly 7%. I'll keep watching it but it could go sideways for a while.

Back to watching RCH now. I sold it to go into Lightspeed which has ran 13% in the week, but RCH looks better. Taking a run at $28.25.

I may circle back near the close today and if it looks like it will hold above that key $28.25 I may buy right at 4pm.

I have been faked out by this as you can see here. http://schrts.co/gDFqzKxx

It yo-yo's $24-$28 a lot. It's really consolidated here and may be time for a rise. There's no resistance until $31.50 if it gets through.

Me too. I buy from them. A birdy told me there's 4 acquisitions coming this year. I don't think that's big news as they acquire all the time and it's the only way they can really grow now.

What scared me is they clamped down on free shipping just a month ago after I had it for a decade or more. It was partly an Amazon thing as they've taken all the couriers by storm and now the couriers can hold companies ransom. But it also worried me as it was coming right from the top in a cost cutting way. They haven't had great numbers the last year and the share price hasn't grown like it had for nearly 2 decades straight up until a year or two ago.

So that backed me off a bit. I may buy tomorrow. I wasn't around at the close today but I see it closed weaker and didn't quite crack $28.25. We'll see.

Dunno why you draw a flat line there.. looks much more like an ascending channel..could break out either way but it's usually considered bearish.

I'm amazed that people didn't load up on Uber at 25$... it's always the same with these large online companies. IPO price dump, rebuy at 50% discount, enjoy 10 years of uptrend. Just look at that volume signature.

I'm just looking short term for RCH, 12% or so on the 6 month chart. Could run past $30 but earnings is coming up. I'm scared of them lacking growth.

Shopify is another story. Can't remember when I bought but it's up 25% since. I bought some $430 calls last week to expire Jan17 and they look good. I look at Shopify and I don't think it's going to drop so I think I'll hold both even though I like to cash out after 15% or so.

Lightspeed is up 16% so I will look to sell it today I think. It was a good move in under 2 weeks. I will keep watching LSPD and get back in as it goes on it's way.

Sold lightspeed at $42. Have to protect gains. I'll get back in at some point I think.

Speaking of protecting gains, when do I sell Shopify? It's been fire lately and I have to sell it at some point before a correction. I just don't know. It should run a bit as it really only broke through that resistance at $544. It's $577 now so I think it might stretch a bit but I don't want to get greedy.

I have to do something with the SHOP options that expire on Friday.

Still in a pretty solid uptrend... but how knows for how much longer. RSI starting to heat up.. no clear signal anywhere. Might be a good idea to take some profits at least.

It kind of goes against how I feel since I really think we have to see a huge stock market sell-off around the world, so I'm kind of worried not sitting in cash yet.

Shopify will have trouble with $462 and probably bounce around a bit, but I'm in now so I'll hopefully be able to sit tight. Should have bought Friday when I bought calls but wasn't confident enough.

That was Nov 27th buy. It was up to a 30% gain today so I sold it all at $590. Can't get greedy that was a great run in less than 2 months. I always had trouble selling but it feels great once you hit sell. No stress. I'll see how it goes and get back in at some point. I usually am happy with a 15% gain and sell and this was double so I'll take it and run. Will be painful if it runs higher but any green sell is a good sell.

These calls were my best yet. Bought 1 contact at $5.50 and sold today for $19. Huge gain but I only buy small amounts of options as they are risky. Made about $1800 on the $600 I spent. I'm not a genius though. That gain will not quite pay off the two 100% loses I had on Peleton puts and ARWR puts.

I learned something from both as I'm new to options. The peleton was $30 and I bought $20 puts cheap. It was too much of a drop to hope for in only a three week window. It didn't drop to $26 and I didn't sell to make a little, instead they expire Friday and are worthless, not worth a penny. Lost $900 there.

The ARWR was high risk as well. They're worth about 20% of a what I paid but don't expire until Feb 21. Doubt the price gains much since then so that will be a total loss. Lessons learned, don't go for huge moves in very short time, and also don't short in a bull market. Both were puts and it's hard to pull stocks down when everything is going wild like it is now.

Should have bought TSLA, when it broke to all new highs and chart was posted. Seen that price lately? Crazy market. There has to be dark days coming. I'll be buying gold probably soon as a mini hedge. Things are way too good. A lot of talk of the same feeling as the 1999 market for the older ones who been through both (not really me, only started small in 2002, lost everything by 2004 then disappeared until 4 years ago). I don't know much, but I do know there will be a 20% correction at some point. It's way too good right now.

Did you buy FOOD Artie? It blew up this morning. Just checked in for the first time today and its way up. Don't see any news. I was just looking at it yesterday thinking it's holding nicely and I should get back in while I wait for SHOP to drop.

Someone just bought everything this morning early on. About 90,000 shares gobbled up and ran it to $3.46 from $3.24.

Someone knows something. They always do.

I went looking for Gold to buy in prep of the end of the stock market that's coming up. I used to have Goldcorp years and year back. I see/think they were bought by Newmont Corp. I have to do more reading as it's a very new ticker symbol. Only been around since April.

Anyway, I should have bought when it bounced $54 as you can see $54 was a strong resistance point for the last 6 months and has now become a support point after it crossed over in december. Should have been on the ball last week.

Low P/E, pays a dividend and gold should get strong here once the market pukes on itself.

If it has trouble with $57 (the new all time high from a couple weeks back, then it might get back to $54. I have a bad feeling it might be going up a level and will use $57 as it's new line of support. Don't want to chase though, need to be smart when there cash sitting around unused.

For next week. Berkshire Hathaway. I always wanted to own some of Buffets brand. It used to be $80,000 USD a for 1 share back in the day. Now that they've split it down the common man can own some!

Is it time to buy? I'll look closer next week, but it has cleared the $223 mark last month. It struggled with it for year! You have to admit if you don't believe in charts, that's pretty cool that it bounced off FIVE times in a year.

Someone look at the short term buy or not-buy signal. I gotta go. Why am I still at work?

Ah class A Berkshire is $344,000 a share. That's the one I remember. Class B split 50:1 in 2010 to get cheap.

Crazy that I remember the class A around $85,000 a share. The old park and hold and forget where you put it, long term investment does work.

Picked up 2 contracts of Amazon $2500 calls for June 19th. This is a stretch but if Amazon runs they'll do ok.

I grabbed them in the morning and Amazon closed nicely yesterday. I paid $5 on the nose so this will be an interesting post to look back on. Either lose 90% or it could be a good gain. 2 contracts and $5 is about $1300 CDN so we'll let it ride for a bit.

Hoping Amazon will run. Looks like it could, also Christmas earnings coming up.

I'm not good at sitting on cash. I want to go shopping with the Shopify sale sitting in my account.

Goodfood has dropped back down on light volume. I should have bought yesterday at $3.20. It doesn't get too close to the 20 day moving average. That big buy that pushed it to $3.47 means something to me. Someone knows something and was adding a large position. Always follow the people smarter than you. I might buy this afternoon. Level2 shows more buy blocks stacked up than sell blocks. I might slip in. There's been too much buying lately, I'll roll the dice on it moving up. http://schrts.co/iTRyEpfb

Jumped back into Lightspeed three days ago. It looked like it leveled out around $42 so I bought in. It's jumped nicely and is now working on $46. Need a close over $46 and it will then run to $49.70. I'm going to go in and out of this one I think. Long term should be positive if the markets hold up, and would be a good long term park and hold, but I'll try to chisel out more profit by selling on runs and buying on dips.

Hoping for an Amazon close over $1902 by tomorrow to make it run.

Gone tomorrow so might put a goodfood buy in today.

So I'm looking at the Wealthsimple cash card. It's a prepaid Visa, but it has:

2.4% interest
No ATM fees, including reimbursement for other people's fees
No forex fees
No other fees

It seems too good to be true, obviously better than my current checking account. Someone tell me why it's bad.
