So far they haven't changed anything. In theory this gives them more money to give to me, which would be great. The previous owners were pretty tight on expenses.

They are probably trying to make you more attractive to a future buyout partner and rake in some real coin.

Could have sworn PF69 didn't work? Whaddaya know.

RCH finally going to the next level today. It's been a long wait. I blew my wad early and got in at the $28 dollar tag that you see on late February mark on the chart. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=RCH.TO&p=D&yr=0&mn=6&dy=0&id=p52722796812 That honestly was me, I bought at the top and it never went back there for five week lol. Stupid. I got horny and blew my wad. Nothing worse than seeing your buy at the top everyday that you check the chart.

It really leveled off after March 20th and really didn't gain or lose for more than a week. That was a nice key point and it shows stability. It also built a nice shelf of support at $27, so I was holding tight even though I spent a dollar more.

So now we see how far it goes. It has to close above $28.44 today for me to feel good. The volume has been really light on this four day $2 run, I wish it was a little stringer. Don't know if it will hold. We'll see, at some point it's going to push to $30 and make another support shelf. I'd like to make a couple dollars and get out.

IRD is starting to level off too. I have another small company I've been watching and missed a huge rise, now I have to wait for it to level off again, so hopefully RCH and push it a little higher here on this run.

Well, that was quick. RCH closed nicely above the magic $28.44 mark last night, closing at $28.59.

That opened the flood gates and it hit $30 this morning with me asleep at the wheel working. It's since backed off a bit but I think there will be more buying pressure than selling. I'll just relax and hold. These more safe 1.75 Billion dollar companies behave a little more slow and safe than the sub 50 million dollar companies.

Nice chart breakout though, eh? A classic "breakthrough a high and run". http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=RCH.TO&p=D&yr=0&mn=6&dy=0&id=p20635912059

Hey Yangarra guy...looks like she's going to run again. Please don't take my word and lose your life savings, but I think it's going to pop and run. It's made a nice shelf at the $2.80 range since mid February. Looks like everyone is comfortable at that price, and if no bad news rolls out, I'm betting she runs in the next day or two. Big buy day yesterday.

It's going to struggle with $ 2.85, but if it closes above that mark, she gone.

I like it. Just back on the market in the last year and a half after being private for 7 years. They make money and show growth.

The chart. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=ZZZ.TO&p=D&yr=1&mn=7&dy=0&id=p82930891220

A big run and a level off. The 50 dma and the 200 dma are close together and the price has gotten comfortable in that $28 range, which has formed a decent base.

What I really like are the last three lows on the chart. They get higher as they go. $27.15, $27.30 and $28 in November , December and January respectively. A good sign.

It looks ready to run back to $34 and maybe push through.

So we gots to $34 fairly easily on a nice 20% 8 week run.

Can we get a Christine McGee smilie?

Now we have a interesting chart setting up. It's closed above the $34.15 high from last September. Always a good sign. The proof: http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=ZZZ.TO&p=D&yr=1&mn=6&dy=0&id=p08549338280

This could very well be the start of another sharp gain like it saw from $22 to $33 like it did in five weeks in July/Aug. I believe the old charters call that chart a possible "cup and saucer". While even I find that a little foolish to say, it's always a good looking chart when the price comes back up and closes above an old high.

We will watch this one.

IRD bought by Wi-Lan for 63 million. Stock up 44% today.

Damnit. Going to miss jumping in and out of IRD.

Wi-Lan Inc-

* WiLan to acquire International Road Dynamics

* Wi-Lan Inc - deal for equity value of approximately $63.5 million

* Wi-Lan Inc- Wi-Lan will fund acquisition with cash from its balance sheet, which at december 31, 2016 was $143.1 million

* Wi-Lan Inc - deal for $4.25 or us $3.17 per share in cash

* Wi-Lan Inc says boards of directors of both wilan and ird have unanimously approved the transaction

I've always wondered how CDIC insurance works. Do they freeze the accounts and cut you a cheque like 9 months later after making you jump through many hoops? Do they take over and make it seemless? I had looked it up once, but there is hardly any info out there -and it's only happened once iirc.

WE MAY SOON FIND OUT!

Well it's all over. I hit my goal of a payback amount needed for the old account losses from the early 2000's when I was young, dumb, however very full of cum as they say. Shooting blanks these days, but smarter with the "sell" button.

I rode some good waves to about 178% portfolio increase since Jan 2015 initial deposit date.

Started with DRT and rode a really strong wave from the $3's to nearly $8 jumping in and out. CXI hurt me after that and washed away some of DRT's gains as I didn't sell and broke that 8% rule to just sell and admit you were wrong. This past year IRD made it for me as the account is up 113% over the last 12 months thanks to IRD. After the takeover, they are no more so I'll miss that horse to ride. She was a good ride. I got close to my goal when I sold IRD earlier in the year after a big run. Then finished with RCH and just this morning it's up to a total of 11% which is what I needed to hit that magic number.

Really can't believe I didn't screw it up again. The markets were strong though, and that really helps. There has to be a real turn coming as everything is too good. When an idiot like me almost triples an account then it's too good. When everyone is saying how great it is, sell. The markets and housing market in Canada should tank soon. Not sure what I'll do now. Play it safe or take the full portfolio risks that got me here. Probably split the portfolio on safe and risky buys since it's now large enough that I can actually do that and still make good gains at 10% moves.

Will be interesting to see if PF's house of crash does happen.

When you say recouped your 2000 losses, does that mean capital or capital + the approx. 150% appreciation (incl dividends) that simply leaving that capital in a low cost US index fund would have given you in that time frame?

Sleep Country almost at $40. They posted huge numbers a couple days ago. http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/sleep-country-canada-reports-strong-first-quarter-results-621796143.html I'll have to let that settle down, but certainly a good long term holding for anyone looking to park money.

I've been watching Shopify for a month but it just keeps going up. I like this one. Good business for the next decade. If it tightens up and goes sideways at a new level I would jump in, similar to what it did in January when it was less than half the price.

Yangarra looks like it may just pop. It's testing a breakout. If any good news filtered out it will run. Seems like most holders are happy in the current $2.80 range.

And lastly DRT has slagged. A poor quarter just posted as they didn't really get any growth and posted a small loss. It hasn't really been able to get to that next level.
