Actually, my main broker had a very good portfolio tool which was my “official” portfolio tool. They did away with it last year. They of course still track your actual portfolio with them, but I use more than one broker and have stuff elsewhere. Actually have no global “all portfolio” centralized tracking tool now.

I guess it’s too demanding (tracking different exchanges, dividend reinvestment/payout, etc) for them to bother keeping up. Shame.

Still, I mourn being able to have a window open all the time with no security concerns that gives you live quotes for your major holdings and stuff you are considering.

I mourn!

I've been really slacking on my trading. Can't remember my last trade. I need to trade Shopify on swings, I've been holding it like a fool as it swings up then pulls back. I just have to sell it on those gains. It looks like there should be some movement soon. The 50 and 200 are getting close and it's really settled into the $135 range since the start of summer. I think it should start to make a new break higher. Online sales have to be increasing each month. Don't know about you guys but I think I got all my Christmas shopping done online this year. Standing at the post office, it seems the rest of the country did too.

Here's shopify over the last 11 months. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=SHOP.TO&p=D&yr=0&mn=11&dy=0&id=p30157934720

The price, 50 day and 200 day are getting pretty close. The closest they have been in a year and a half. It's going to move. Hope it's up.

Richelieu is a buy right now, I believe. It's sitting at it's 50 and things are tightening up. RCH is the ticker, and everyone should own some. Look at this 6 year chart, it's totally insane. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=RCH.TO&p=D&yr=5&mn=0&dy=0&id=p49617232153 The crazy thing is a 15 year chart would look the same.

Here's a new one that caught my eye when scanning low P/E stocks. Urbana Corp. I need to read more but I may get into this one. It's a $3.70 share price stock that makes $1 dollar earnings per share. Pretty strong P/E of 3.74. It's an investment company so I really don't have much experience following those companies, but the price has been going up and it's still a quiet low volume trader flying under the radar. I have to read more on this but I think I'd but a smaller position of it on a pullback.

2 year chart for URB. Very nice. http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=URB.TO&p=D&yr=2&mn=0&dy=0&id=p13415760298

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/13/styl ... aires.html

At a jazz bar a few days later, I run into Mr. Fickel’s personal trainer, Alan Chen, who is now running in this crypto circle. Mr. Fickel had convinced Mr. Chen to put his savings into Ethereum.

“I’m retired, man,” Mr. Chen said. “I’m moving to L.A. next week. I got a penthouse on Marina del Rey.”

“Don’t say I’m retired,” he added. “I’m going into business now. I’m going to use blockchain to help personal trainers.”

RCH.TO has been really weird. Just released good numbers again this morning. It's trailed off a little in the last week and a half. Probably should have sold it when I was up 20%. More likely a correction before another run. It's getting close to it's 200 day moving average which hasn't happened since this time last year. I'll keep holding it, but I should have cashed in I guess.

Shopify is now at an all time high. If it can close at $152 or higher today I will be happy. This I believe is the start of a new run up after it's consolidated for the last 3-4 months. I have to talk myself into selling this thing when it runs, it goes up and down like a yo-yo and there's no sense sitting through all the ups and downs. I'm looking for $160+ in the next couple of days.

I need to find some fresh blood. Anyone got anything out there?

It's going to drop like a rock.

So true every time is that of when things look so amazing or so shitty, it's usually the sign of a reverse.

I remember when people were actually wondering how far things could go, would people lose everything, was their house worth anything, etc in 2007-08. It looked like the worst time to be alive since the depression. It was real, living it. Of course looking at a 10 year chart it was a brilliant time to buy everything.

Watching Don Trump open up his state of the Union address speaking of the historic run of the stock market, I knew right there that was the top.

It's that old Warren Buffet piece that goes something like this: When things look bleak, buy. When everyone and their neighbour are talking about how great the market is, sell.

We're at the later. When fools were making easy money, the run will come to an end and the correction will be sharp.

I’ve just been waiting for a major correction to buy back in (been mostly liquid for over a year). I like the fundamentals of the economy, not the stock prices. If rates rise and prices fall, it will be a welcomed return to normality. I hope for a swift correction/readjustment rather than years of shitty returns based on slowly raising rates/dropping prices.

Panic people! Please panic!

Historically big gains have been followed by big crashes. Every time people think that they can retire early something like this happens.
