Nothing has happened yet, though. We’re just back to like December levels.

Banks are ditching crypto exchanges, they have trouble processing the payments... on reddit people say they receive their money, just with delay... we'll see.

That’s like wow, man.

Until january you could use interac online and cash out 10k a day instantly. There's also an express EFT (2-3buisness days) but with 2% fees.. I opted for the free option which is 7-10 buisness days.

In most of the world they have much better infrastructures. We only have 2 minor exchanges in Canada...

Shopify reports tomorrow. I don't know what to do. It's up 26% for me, and about 15% in the last three days.

Selling is harder than it looks. Since I'm very comfortable in a long term look on SHOP, I think I'll sit and see what comes out tomorrow. However, with this big run this week there could easily be profit taking and even a decent drop if the numbers aren't superb.

These guys have beaten analysts in 9 straight quarters. That's a tough game to keep winning.

I guess I'll hold. Hmmm, now to find a smilie that looks like I feel.. :10games:

I'm not touching oil or resources. Too blurry for me.

I just sold all of my Shopify this morning. It was up almost exactly 31% so I will wait until it comes back to me and load up again. I can't believe it's $182 a share, but it will probably be pushing $300 in a year. I'm totally comfortable long term so now I'll look to jump back in if it can come back to the 20 day moving average soon.

They had another good quarter beating expectations, but it's running a bit high up that bollinger band and I think it should go sideways soon and get comfortable at this level.

Shopify hasn't really sagged since I sold. It's leveled off nicely in the $170's, but I'm still waiting to get back in. Don't want to chase it, but it's hard sitting on the sidelines.

Just loaded up full portfolio in Shopify on this large pullback. I think I might be a bit early and it will probably go a little lower, but I shaved $24 off a share price from last month and that was the goal.

Full portfolio buys always get the heart pumping. :donger: :vince:

You’re not retiring soon are you? If not, a drop is good. When in accumulating phase/all drops are good (except permanent ones, I guess).

US market is up some 30% since trump came into office. I’m not at all worried about a correction -it’s long overdue.

I’m actually ambivalent about the tarrif announcements. This may just lead to a negotiated deal prior to the tarrifs coming into effect, which would not be a bad thing. China hasn’t exactly played by the rules. It is risky, of course, and can spread and escalate and slump the world economy. Yolo!

I'm legit surprised markets are up. What's driving that? You'd think 50 billion in tariffs would provide significant headwind.

This is exactly what baffles me. OF COURSE IT MATTERS!!! One is an ownership interest in a company. The other is thin air. Shares have value because of the underlying value of the company (its profit generating capacity/potential). Somebody buys a company, they buy the shares. Company makes a profit, it’s distributed to the shareholders. Equity volatility is a short term thing because of speculators. Long term, equity returns are dividends+dividend increases multiplied by a number (the PE ratio) which reflects what the market is willing to pay for that revenue stream (ultimately, its going to be tied to interest rates in the long run).

People forget what equities are. They are ownership of a revenue stream. Same as real estate.

These coins are thin air. Nothing. Just speculation. They rely on a greater fool paying more. It’s a textbook definition of a bubble. Not in the sense of inflated prices. In the sense of mass hysteria. Even tulips had more intrinsic value. This will end in so much tears.

That's why I almost exclusively trade platform (main blockchain) coins.. they have some intrinsic value since you need the coin to pay for the fees of running the chain. One of them will eventually become the leading chain that every application will be built on top of, and you'll always need ditto coins to pay for running the chain.
