Well, 13 will at some point lose the leadership race, with the 14th 'winner' losing the next election. So technically he can't be wrong...

One report I read yesterday had one candidate (unnamed = Bernier) going through the GTA signing up large swaths of Tamils.

That's the only place I've seen specific mention of an ethnic group though.

Speaking of inspiration: Moved by the nimble, ethnic targeting of the Bernier camp, Mr O'Leary has decided to throw his hat right into that ring.

A signed affidavit provided to The Globe and Mail alleges that one of Conservative leadership candidate Kevin O’Leary’s key organizers in the Sikh-Canadian community in Brampton, Ont., offered to pay for party membership – a clear breach of party rules.

The affidavit is being used by leadership candidate Maxime Bernier’s camp to target the reality-TV star as a hypocrite after the O’Leary team accused his Quebec rival of committing mass membership fraud last week.

Six Sikh-Canadians signed an affidavit on Sunday alleging that the president of the Conservative Brampton East Riding Association offered to pay for their memberships.

Not sure if this is on any or your radars as it has been mine the past few days. but thoughts on the J Andrew Potter brouhaha enveloping academia and the political chatterboxes at the moment?

I personally believe McGill has acted shamefully (not surprised) regardless of the article's quality - though it was quite amusing in parts, I must say (e.g., the line about prog rock).

Holy buttholes (!) the Tories are a cunt hair away from electing Beauce's own Maxime Bernier as their leader. I have never felt safer voting for a tertiary party as I have in this upcoming 2019 election.

Hell, I might even go full-blown Rhino Party with this one boys.

I've skimmed enough Leah McLaren columns over the years to know that she is a weirdo who makes her living off partly from giving out tmi, and presents it as providing a valuable service for the hordes of moms out there. I don't know, maybe it is; I've never been a mom. But the revelation, while funny and kind of gross, is not surprising, and I think D is right that the folks who dug up this old story definitely want to give poor old Chong a bump in the polls. Robyn Urback basically suggested as much.

Polls are deceptive because of how convoluted the Conservative voting system for leadership is:

Voting will be on a one member one vote basis using a ranked ballot; however votes will be calculated so that each electoral district have equal weight with each electoral district allocated 100 points. Candidates will be assigned a point total based on his or her percentage of the vote in each electoral district. To win, a candidate must receive at least 16,901 points which would be a majority.

Quebec has 7,800 points or 23% of the points in the country. If O'Leary tanked in Quebec and only got single digits there, he would have had to win by big margins everywhere else to make up the difference.

My wife is part timing last few years so I got the income split benefit. Not everyone is as rich as you dog. The fact that Justin thinks I'm rich blows my mind.

Plus reducing fitness credit from 1000 per kid to 500 hurt. That's 2000 less in credits. It wasn't a big refund, but still something. Justin is going to introduce a new generation of fat kids.
