Pat Verbeek

Pull up a chair, here's a tumbler of scotch, and help yourself to the sybian, good times that we'll all remember.

Pat Verbeek

Pat Verbeek burst onto the scene of hockey just as Jimmy Carter was winding down the failing war in Viet Nam. As a supporter of the Viet Cong, Verbeek felt more empowered than most Communists and decided to ply his trade as a Right Winger to smite his parents, who were also Communists. He did this in a town called Sarnia, Ontario.

Sarnia, Ontario was a town full of Communists in 1980. Of that there can be no discussion. Even today it is disgusting. But that did not stop the young Verbeek from putting up Capitalist numbers. Indeed, 16 assists in four games got him a ticket to several meat draws, some of which are metaphors.

Pat Verbeek went on to have a fabulous career and is lauded even today by Communists worldwide.
