Wouldn't mind seeing a JDS vs Cain fight again, part 3.

Must either want more money or more time. After Struve he asked for a top-five opponent and then he asked for the JDS fight on twitter after Reem dropped out. If he really doesn't want JDS then his other options in the official top-five are an Olympic wrestler and three BJJ black belts. Doesn't make sense.

If Hunt/JDS doesn't happen I want Hunt/Nelson in the fattest, most slobberknockeriest tilt since Tank/Ferrozzo I.

EDIT:

@danawhite: Mark Hunt and I just got off the phone and had a GREAT conversation!!

Hopefully it is JDS. That makes a lot of sense, fun fight, and gets Junior back on track. Nelson would just take that fight to the ground.

Yes, which is why it makes sense. They need JDS moving upwards to keep that division interesting and set up the 3rd fight.

I can hear Joe Rogan now. "Mark Hunt is, without a doubt, the best striker Junior Dos Santos has ever fought. With Hunt's explosive knockout power, Junior will have to be very careful on his feet, and if it goes to the ground, Hunt has a very underrated ground game. This is going to be, without question, one hell of a fight."

Well, the fight is official now and I think Hunt has a better than average chance against JDS for a couple reasons:

- he has the greatest chin in MMA history
- big fat Samoan power

Some people seem to think it's going to be JDS/Nelson II, but I don't. Nelson admitted after the Mitrione fight that he had never worked on striking until 2009, about a year before that fight. He basically covered up and threw nothing but haymakers. Hunt is obviously a legit stand up fighter. K-1 WGP champ and what not. Hunt can put together a combo and has heavy, heavy kicks available if Junior doesn't look interested in going to the ground.

I give Hunt has as good of a chance in this fight as Reem had, or any other striker in the HW division.

Nelson didn't really cover up, he fought out of a shell, which is more tactical than reactive. And didn't he have walking pneumonia that fight, or was it another?

I hope Junior fights with his hands high or he could be in trouble. He doesn't need to worry about the takedown, but if he comes out cocky and low, he could get caught. If he is smart, he'll get it to the ground, and finish him like, say, Fedor did, but if they stand it should be exciting.

GSP's dark passenger is eating a poutine during training and not giving a fuck what his nutritionist thinks.

And of course, GSP is hailed as some unreal fighter, yet he hasn't fucked a guy up completely to tap out or get KTFO since 2009.

That's stupid. He is unreal because he wins 50-45 every fight. If he wasn't unreal someone would beat him. And putting a guy out a year with a shattered orbital is a lot more damaging than a 30 day suspension from KO or a week off because of a sore elbow or no injury because of choke.

Diaz is fucking hilarious. He retires, doesn't want to talk to media but then goes on to say he'd take a fight with GSP again, has a better shot at Silva, etc etc.

The guy should retire for real (because his supposed retirement is likely to last a few months at best), take his fucktard brother with him and go be a cholo with Stan in Colorado.

Red Wings are boring, I look forward to seeing them get fucked in the Eastern Conference next year by everyone, including the Lightning.

Didn't even think of it until Rogan said it...if Sonnen had held on to the end of the round Jones likely would have been DQed due to injury. Just a matter of seconds.

Also, Roy Nelson continues to impress. I can't help but cheer for him. Granted I didn't expect much out of Kongo, but still.

Zero milliliters of blood was the correct answer (Cain decided to work the soft part of the skull this time).

Too bad Hunto got put down like that. Too old, fat and slow these days. He always was fat and slow, but only a little bit fatter and not this slow.

I'm not sure I agree with this, Roy can hang with pretty much anyone in the planet, imo. "can't beat the top guys" may be more accurate. He is one of the few guys to survive a full fight with jds.

His hands haven certainly improved over the last year, making him more of a threat. I think he'd beat mir in a rematch at this point.

I noticed yesterday that Barnett will fight mir in Milwaukee. That will be an excellent fight.

I don't consider a shell defense for 3 rounds really hanging with anyone. It's just not getting knocked out. He threatened less than Carwin did.

But I have a general dislike for fighters that fall in love with one technique, like an overhand right, and just go to it again and again.

Agree about Barnett / Mir. Both are past their prime but at a similar pace and it's a great matchup.

Understandable. I have a bias for big Roy, I was a fan of the ifl back in the day. I wish he would use his to found power as as a threat to get it to the mat quicker, where he is very high level.

Big hw fight tonight, werdum has improved so much since being released from the ufc but nog shod never be counted out. I think he has a much better chance than he is being given. That being said, werdum is the clear favorite & deserves to be. People seem to forget that nog was owning mir til he decided to try for the sub (pride).

Is hendo/evans 5 rounds now that it's the main event? I like hendo's chance of pitting the bomb on his chin in 5. Rashad can dance & jab for 3.

That was a crazy quick card. I don't know if they just set up a lot of mismatches for the home crowd or what, but that was a lot of high level jiu jitsu.

I'm hoping Rashad doesn't stalemate for the whole fight. For someone so athletic, he can be boring as hell.
